fone stating a random deal u like and they will beat it... the deal dont even have to be true, they dont check... u should be offered the 600 mins, 1000 texts, unlimited internet for £20-25... if not, maybe ur not a 'loyalty' customer... as the chick i spoke to said. dont tell them 'i want this' ... instead tell them ur leaving because u found xyz deal...
also if ur contract is via CPW then go to them as 02 themselves cant help u.
We do check the deals if you say you have found it from another phone company! we do go online and look. All the offers you are offered are logged too, so if you call up and say the last advisor offered me XYZ, they just check the notes and if it’s not there in your notes, you won’t get it! You can however say your friend was offered a deal and your both on the same tariff and could you put me on the same as he/her??? but keep it real! also push for free broadband etc. as you can get this, its a real deal.
Look this is how it works, this is the max we can offer normally and can’t always be offered as deals change etc!!!
Offer 1. £15 off your deal - max with new medium handset
Offer 2 £150 credit max with (no phone).
Offer 3 if your on high tariff, The only way we will offer you top of the range phone is on high tariff with discount therefore you will never hit under £30 month tariff max. New headset = £30pm best deal. some and I mean some cases might be allowed to chip a little more off!
* Iphone cant be discounted £35pm that the only way you will get it at the moment, i dont know off any more deals coming out as off yet, but once they are confirmed to me, i will let you guys know.
Really all does depends on your personal circumstances and the money pot on the day! so it’s very hard to say what you would be offered without looking at your account.
What you should do before calling is look at what mins your using, are you going over or under using?? same with texts, work out what you need so you don’t go over your monthly tariff. look for phone see which one would be best for you ( my dad still using nokia 3310 and won’t change it lol he don’t like change!!)
And most of all what you can afford!!! dont push yourself if you know you cant afford it, keep it real, are you ringing because you want a new phone or because money is tight and you need to get the bills down???
Some people call in who are on £25pm tariff and their bills are hit £75 per month you say look ill put you on £35pm tariff and ill discount it to £30 and give you top headset free. "They say I don’t want to pay more and I don’t want a top handset!! SELL THE HANDSET ( we can’t say this by the way, we do try and drop hints but some people dont get it!!!) this way you will get £300+ for the handset which will pay off your tariff for 8-9 month line rental FREE! plus your £35 pounds a month better off because you won’t go over your tariff as your getting extra 200 mins & 300 texts! so the whole 18 months contract will cost you £300 for 18 months!!
And they still don’t get it and carry on paying £75 pm, Bloody madness!0 -

Well I thought it was good anyway. My existing 12 month contract was up and I normally get a new phone and contract with dialaphone but I always see what O2 offer me. I phoned up O2 retentions and told them that I was seriously considering the dialaphone offer of 400 minutes/500 texts for an effective £11.67 over 18 months with a new handset included.
The O2 guy asked if I definately needed a new handset. I didn't. I'm very happy with my current Sony Ericson. He correctly pointed out that my average monthly usage was only 130 minutes. He asked if I would be ok with a 200 minute/200 text tariff. I said I was.
He then said he had a great offer (oh yeah, I've heard that before). He said he could do 200/200, no handset, on a 18 month contract for £10 a month. I was waiting for him to stop speaking before telling him how it was a pathetic offer compared to my dialaphone deal but he then delivered the killer punch. He said O2 would give me a credit of £150 into my account meaning that I pay absolutely nothing for the first 15 months then pay £10 a month for the last 3 months.
Thats a total of £30 over 18 months. I'm really pleased with that.0 -
Thats super! see where not that bad :T
3000 mins free
3000 text free
i wish bt would do this on my house phone! and i would start using it!
You know guys if things are tight, stop using your house phones, just use your free weekend etc, use all the mins you have on you tariff, save you a forture! god sake dont call 0845, i know its a pain in the butt if your in a rush but get on sayno0870 get a landline number to call, as you dont know how long your going to be on hold?
One thing i would say is i hope they start moving on the iphone, but not all down to us, apple have alot of input.
There will be new deals in the new year, dont know myself what they are, but if your not in a rush, just hang on and see what happends? o2 are very keen to keep all the customers to stay and happy, this is why theres always more deals popping up.
ps o2 better give us a good xmas party, or im going to work for orange lmfao :O)0 -

Out of interest Cathy... Would you know/remember if o2 still do the Sony Ericsson W910i on a 12month contract?
or if anyone else has asked o2 in the last month or so...0 -

no dude/dudette. you cant keep the same deal... trust me. you're gonna have to go on the side line like me and get the 600 text, unlimited internet, and 1000 text for 20 quid on the simplicity thing... so its month by month basis - without phone of course until more offers start to come out... well, that's what i'm doing anyway.0
