they earn more on 18 month contracts. so they will tell u there are no 12 month offers (when there are) as u cant argue with the fact there is 'none'.are you guys saying that o2 still do a 12 month contract? the women on the retentions line said they've stopped doing it altogether!?0 -
fone stating a random deal u like and they will beat it... the deal dont even have to be true, they dont check... u should be offered the 600 mins, 1000 texts, unlimited internet for £20-25... if not, maybe ur not a 'loyalty' customer... as the chick i spoke to said. dont tell them 'i want this' ... instead tell them ur leaving because u found xyz deal...shell820810 wrote: »Can anyone suggest the best type of phone I should be asking for for about £15-20pm? And also what minutes/texts? Currently have G600. Would like i8510 but realise that they prob wouldnt offer it, and if they did it would be V expensive!
Previous phonecalls to O2, they were only offering me the standard £25/month tariff that new customers get with free C902 or Tocco. Said they couldnt go any lower on tariff with free phone, which from previous posts is rubbish!
Been O2 (CPW) customer for about 5 yrs, £35 per month contract.
Are CPW any more/less generous than O2 direct, and as an CPW O2 customer, can I contact O2 direct for a retentions deal?
Thanks
Michelle
also if ur contract is via CPW then go to them as 02 themselves cant help u.0 -
i used to hate 18 mnth contracts, but since taking the plunge last upgrade its so much EASIER! not worrying about changing after 9 months and choosing a new fone and goin through all the hassle. 18 months is much better for me. i got the u600 last time and still love it to this day. just gotta get used to this tocco!!!!0

I suppose if you find yourself a good tariff locking into it isn't much of a problem. It depends a lot on whether you're always wanting a new gadget (not that good for the environment, really, LOL), whether O2 are a network worth sticking with for long term (so far in my experience they are very good, signed up in '05 and have never looked back) and a host of other factors.
I am not a fan of long contracts myself, however I do think the 18 month deals of today do offer better value than the 12 month contracts of 3 years ago. Plus, these retention deals make things even better
Competition must be working to a certain extent if these deals keep coming up to stop us taking our custom somewhere else. 0 -
Downloads (which can include movies/songs etc), but technically internet is download of data from web pages so has to be worded as such.so whats unlimited data then?

Yes, mine updated to 2.2 when I plugged it in.Any of you who got the recon iPhones can post what firmware version it came with? Or, more simply, did iTunes ask you to update your firmware the first time you plugged it in?I-thought-a-thousand-million-things-that-I-could-never-think-this-morning0 -

I am AMAZED at how good the iphone is.....i had played on my friends a few times, but now i know why so many people love them. Yeah, i know it can not do a few simple things, but what it does do FAR out weighs those negatives! AWESOME!!
