Some OLD phones still can be sold on 12month deals, but anything brought out in the last year or so will be 18month only im afraid...

  • Can anyone suggest the best type of phone I should be asking for for about £15-20pm? And also what minutes/texts? Currently have G600. Would like i8510 but realise that they prob wouldnt offer it, and if they did it would be V expensive!

Previous phonecalls to O2, they were only offering me the standard £25/month tariff that new customers get with free C902 or Tocco. Said they couldnt go any lower on tariff with free phone, which from previous posts is rubbish!

Been O2 (CPW) customer for about 5 yrs, £35 per month contract.

Are CPW any more/less generous than O2 direct, and as an CPW O2 customer, can I contact O2 direct for a retentions deal?

    Thanks
    Michelle

I'd say the last six months or the ones that are free on all contracts- it does depend who you get though. The shift for O2 in the next few months I believe will be to locking people into any type of contract as the credit crunch hits further.

Dont ask dont get ;) the Tocco is quite nice, and of you go through retentions you may get a better deal (probably £27 for all the free mins/txts and unlimited web), plus as a returning o2 customer you should be elidgable for free broadband for a year too...that'll save you the difference ;)

We already have O2 broadband which we are paying £17.50 per month for (not in a LLU enabled area). If we suggested that we are going to cancel when the year runs out next May do you think they would give us any discount at this stage? Hubby's mobile contact runs out about May too, so can negotiate the broadband renewal at this stage if they dont offer me anything now.

The free deal ive seen expires 31st Dec '08, so unless they extend it or are feeling particularly generous I doubt you'll get it in May too.

I've just got off the phone with them... because i cant make up my mind on what phone to get... and my 12 month discounted tariff is finishing this month, they o2 retensions put me on a month to month basis tariff - which will carry on as it is if i dont touch it - and that is 600 min - 1000 text and unlimited internet... WITHOUT a phone. for 20 GBP incl. VAT.

i can still call up anytime - wait for phones to be in stock or any other offers that come up to upgrade as I would - but as it stands now... im on a 20 quid 'standby' tariff with free internet on a month to month no fixed contract.
  • I have just negotiated this deal quite easily which goes like this:

O2 Online35 (£35.00 per month) Which includes 600 mins and 1000 texts plus a free bolt-on; which I opted for the unlimited data access. Plus I get a free Sony Walkman W980i, all for £20 a month!!!!

    Im quite happy with that.
