All the offers you are offered are logged too, so if you call up and say the last advisor offered me XYZ, they just check the notes and if it’s not there in your notes, you won’t get it! You can however say your friend was offered a deal and your both on the same tariff and could you put me on the same as he/her??? but keep it real! also push for free broadband etc. as you can get this, its a real deal.
LIE LIE LIE!!!!!!! when i foned i went straight to cancel. but was put through to retentions and she asked me why i was leaving, i told her of a genuine deal (ok part of it had expired) with blah blah cashback and immediately she offered xyz and threw in ABC. no way she woulda checked the deal as the deal expired over a month ago!!!!! and offered me it within seconds! she didnt ask what network the deal was. i told her the deal, just didnt tell her part of it had expired (3 months half price). she was more interested in beating the cashback figure of £150.
like i said, quote a random deal and they will be putty, espesh if ur a 'loyalty' customer
Look this is how it works, this is the max we can offer normally and can’t always be offered as deals change etc!!!
Offer 1. £15 off your deal - max with new medium handset
Offer 2 £150 credit max with (no phone).
Offer 3 if your on high tariff, The only way we will offer you top of the range phone is on high tariff with discount therefore you will never hit under £30 month tariff max. New headset = £30pm best deal. some and I mean some cases might be allowed to chip a little more off!
i got told that on my previous upgrade, 'this is all we can offer'. i declined and foned up another time and was offered a better deal with cashback! if they do check then ovilly they could see i would leave... mind u i had foned twice about my PAC code so they knew i was serious bout jumpin ship! im actually still waiting for it a over a year later... LMAO!
* Iphone cant be discounted £35pm that the only way you will get it at the moment, i dont know off any more deals coming out as off yet, but once they are confirmed to me, i will let you guys know.
Really all does depends on your personal circumstances and the money pot on the day! so it’s very hard to say what you would be offered without looking at your account.
What you should do before calling is look at what mins your using, are you going over or under using?? same with texts, work out what you need so you don’t go over your monthly tariff. look for phone see which one would be best for you ( my dad still using nokia 3310 and won’t change it lol he don’t like change!!)
when i foned they always wanna tell me 'well ur average usage is this...' NOT INTERESTED! tell me what u can offer for my budget. all the small talk is to try bang u into a contract u cant afford/need.
And most of all what you can afford!!! dont push yourself if you know you cant afford it, keep it real, are you ringing because you want a new phone or because money is tight and you need to get the bills down???
Some people call in who are on £25pm tariff and their bills are hit £75 per month you say look ill put you on £35pm tariff and ill discount it to £30 and give you top headset free. "They say I don’t want to pay more and I don’t want a top handset!! SELL THE HANDSET ( we can’t say this by the way, we do try and drop hints but some people dont get it!!!) this way you will get £300+ for the handset which will pay off your tariff for 8-9 month line rental FREE! plus your £35 pounds a month better off because you won’t go over your tariff as your getting extra 200 mins & 300 texts! so the whole 18 months contract will cost you £300 for 18 months!!
who's really gonna use the money to pay off a contract?! they r either gonna go spend it straight away or use it to pay summat. bills r monthly so they know u aint gonna use it to 'save for the contract'. same with n e cashback!
And they still don’t get it and carry on paying £75 pm, Bloody madness!0 -
He said O2 would give me a credit of £150 into my account meaning that I pay absolutely nothing for the first 15 months then pay £10 a month for the last 3 months.
Thats a total of £30 over 18 months. I'm really pleased with that.0 -
mind u on this upgrade she said i get discounted int calls... well if thats discounted then lord help those that pay full... int calls r MADNESS prices!!!!!
There is 2 call centers!!! i know at our call center we do check! end of the day we are not there to do you over, we here to save you! and offer you a better deal, what we get pay to do! So please dont call me a lier!
im here to help, im taking my time out, to reply to posts and pms of my own back. untill u work there! and have facts and deals sheets, you really shouldnt call people liers not nice.
Once they give you a pac code your a gonna in there eyes, no advisors would care less! there eyes you have gone!!! we get payed to save you!!! why save someone who have already gone???
Reason you get a better deal, when you ring back because of the money pot!!!!!!!! (which i have talked about in my posts)
if you want to know what this means plz read my past post as my fingers are starting to give way!0 -

Hi. I am a bit confused by all this (i'm not a techy person!). I have an o2 phone and the 18 month contract is up in April. I have had people ringing me and telling me they will buy me out - but you have to go through another credit check. I am happy with o2 and am wondering how soon i can get an upgrade or retention (im not sure what retention is!!), without going through another credit check.
Sorry for being a dope!:o0 -

Ok, if you're a standard customer you can upgrade 1 month early which will mean you can upgrade in March. If you're select (high spender) then you can upgrade 3 months early).
When it comes to upgrades you will not be credit checked but you will have to wait for your upgrade date to do this.
As for retentions, basially its a team who when you phone up saying you want to leave, the advisor will put you through to the "disconnections team" these are really retentions who will then offer you a deal to try to retain you as a customer, they will offer you incentives such as free bolt-ons or disounted line rental in the hope that you stay with o2.
I hope that answered your questions. xxWork like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0
