    mmm, sounds intriguing......

Finished contract at beginning of month, and changed yesterday to simplicity (was recommended by someone in retentions to do this), on the basis that iphone deals might be upcoming. Can I ask whether I'll need to give 30 days notice on simplicity deal? For instance if iphone deals come online in two weeks will I have to give 30 days notice then, or will retentions let me upgrade immediately?

    Cheers

if you upgrade thru retention you don't have to be on the simplicity for 30 days, that rule only applies if you are trying to upgrade in a store, and to be honest, who really upgrades in a store?!?!?! (unless of course you spend £10 a month and think you can have the c905 for free cos youve been with us for 48 years spending nothing!! ooooh lovely lovely customers :D)

    ohh, hello,
Perhaps you know when the next batch of Xperia's will be in.. I've been told a variety of different dates.
latest one being 1st december :-(

sadly i honestly do not know, the reason a lot of people seem to get different release dates is that the stock report really does change that often its hard to give exact dates, rubbish i know, but hey ho!
  • This evening, on about my 6th or 7th call, I was offered (and accepted as I was losing the will to live):
    • 250 mins, 100 texts
    • £15 per month (18 month contract)
    • £150 credit instead of a new handset
    • Unlimited O2 to O2 calls
    • Unlimited web bolt on
Not as good as my first retention deal a few weeks ago, but not too bad. This works out at £6.67 per month for the tariff (with 2 bolt ons).

They weren't budging on the phone so thought I would take this and get a phone myself from eBay over the next week or so.

Spoke to Retentions about the X1 directly this time, and they said the same thing. Definitely can't do any discounts until I've been on Simplicity for 11 months (after which they could do the £27 deal, where the phone is £49.99).

Is this eleven month rule something other people have experienced?

It is a rule but I managed to get the C905 deal for £49.99 that everyone has mentioned except that I pay £30 a month instead of £27. I have only been with them since June so just keep trying and make sure you quote some deals you've seen here

Define nothing, when referring to old customers? Ive been with o2 for about 10years (going back to the BT Genie days), and have regularly been spending £20-25 but have had deals done in the past for reduced line rental down to £15 per month and have just switched to the new simplicity deal at £10 p/month. Does this class me as a 'lovely lovely customer' that annoy you wanting a decent new phone each year/18 months? Ive had nothing but hassle trying to upgrade this time with o2 hence switching to simplicity to wait for better deals to come along, but will they ever come along if im not classed a decent customer? Ive spent around £2500 with o2 over the years (barring the cost of phone upgrades, sometimes £50-100), but do guys that spend over £50 a month at the moment ,but have only been with o2 a year, get priority over the likes of me?!

Thanks in advance, and im glad we finally have some o2 representation on the boards :)
