02 Retentions thread 2

hi everyone,
I work for o2 also (although not in retentions) but know a bit of how it works. Basically as a customer you are given a 'budget' that the retentions advisor can work on with you. If you are a fairly low spender, no matter how long your 'loyalty' is, the advisor will have a low budget to work on with you, this is why some of you will find that the advisors are simply 'not budging' - it's because the system they use automatically generates the budget they can give you.
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
On a £35pm contract I mainly text and rarely call.
Will O2 give me a bigger retention budget if I use all my allowances each month as opposed to under utilising a part of it.0 -

Interesting...so do you know what quantifies the different budgets? What spend may equal what budget? It doesn't allow anyone to change their usage much though. If you want a top end phone and dont mind paying for it, they may not offer you one if it's not 'in budget'?!

Use about 400mins pm - was on a cashback 35ppm for 600mins. Called asking for the pac and was offered a rolling tariff 400mins pm, 1000txts and unlimited 02to02 for 15ppm.
Was surprised and said all right. Anything better I should've bargained for? The O2toO2 is convenient as OH's on O2 too.0 -
I am a happy bunny today!!
.....he offered me 15 a month for 18 months for 200mins 400 texts plus unlimited o2-o2 and the phone still costs 9.99. i said i want to reduce the bills and told em that i wnat to buy hte phone outside so it all settled down to.....
NO NEW PHONE
10 a month for 18 months
200x mins and 400 texts plus unlimited o2-o2 calls
a free 150 credit to my account as not wanted a phone.
plus one year free o2 broadband with free wireless router......in the end i only pay 30 pounds for a 18 months contract with free broadband and router....ofcourse no new phone.....but i could get one off ebay if i wanted......
thanks for all those who helped me to bargain this deal.....all my discussion lasted only 17 mins. saved my time and theirtime as well....
Well done on getting that deal!!! I have just come off the phone with O2 retentions after about 15 mins and the very best they would do for the calling plan you were offered (200m, 400txt, unlim O2-O2) was £15 a month with £150 credit. They wouldn't budge on that, so I requested my PAC for both contracts I have up for renewal and they said they would send them in 48 hours, so I'm feeling disappointed today :-(
I really wanted to avoid doing another cashback deal and stay with O2 for a bit of stability, but it's looking like I'll take out a new contract with cashback. They said what deals they can offer is calculated "according to your spending pattern". I thought that having 2 contracts to renew and already being an O2 Broadband customer might help, but it doesn't seem so. Oh well! I wonder if I will get a call back from their "winback team" to see if they can improve on their offer...0 -
I just rang retentions and this time was offered:
600 mins
1000 texts
c902
one free bolt-on
for £20 a month. Not too bad a deal considering I would take the web bolt-on anyway, making it effectively £12.50 a month. However I think I'm going to go with the Nokia 6300 free line rental deal that MTYD have at the moment. It's not too big a deal that I can't transfer my number.0 -
thats a gd deal
I would take that with unlimited txts and unlimited web that would only be £27.50 per month !!0 -
Can you port your number if say for instance - O2 won't offer me a decent deal so I ask for my PAC - I get the deal I want on Dial a Phone with O2. Will they port the number? It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice0
-
No, you cannot port from O2 to O2 (unless you're buying from a CPW dealer and transferring from O2 direct). You would need to pick up a PAYG SIM and port the number to that SIM first, and then port back into O2.0
