Well, the strange thing was that when I persisted and said I would want to transfer to Vodaphone if they couldn't do anything before January, he just agreed to send me my PAC code!0

I am on a silver band - whatever that may mean
But today finally got some sense out of someone. Blackberry Bold £49.99 for the handset, 1200 minutes, 1000 texts, unlimited blackberry usage as my bolt on, discounted down from £45 to £30 a month for an 18 month contract and the handset is half price.
Would have liked the handset for free but cant complain as I am saving money on my curent tarrif anyway!! Not to mention whole family is on 02 now so moving them all would be a hassle.....
So perserverance seems to be the key - that and hoping 02 gets stock at the right time!
I agree, I got a similar deal to yourself with a bit of perseverance. Think it helps to have in mind exactly which phone you want and let them know that you're not really up for a compromise. I am however that I didn't spend too long thinking about my offer as many of the top handsets have gone out of stock really quickly and they won't put you on a list for when they come back in. I was told Monday at 2pm for a new stock of Samsung Toccos but went for the LG renoir instead, jut hope it doesn't take too long to arrive! :beer:0 -
Well I rang upgrades on friday, and was told the cheapest tariff to get the C905 free was a £75 a month one.
When I asked what other tariffs they had they said a £45 tariff and the phone would be £49.99. Insisted that there was nothing they could do to bring tariff price down.
After reading someone's post a couple of pages back, I rang straight back and spoke to someone in retentions.
Told them I'd read that someone got 1200 mins, 1000 texts and free internet bolt on for £27 a month - £49.99 for phone !. Woman put me on hold then transferred me to someone else. She came on phone and said yeah we can do that deal for you. Its basically the £45 tariff with a 40% discount.
Phone has arrived today. Thinking of ringing and cancelling though cos the phone is for my missus....and she wants the copper one !.
Does anyone know where I could get this from ? Could i just go to CPW and see if they have any in and possibly swap them....is that allowed ?
You need to keep trying with O2. You can speak to 3 different people one after the other and get 3 different stories. If you can quote actual deals that people have got (like i did), then they generally try to match it. Didn't want to pay for phone, but if she ends up keeping it then I suppose its no harm done....I've got a cracking deal I reckon for £27 a month !0 -
Judging by the availability of the c905 i'd sell it on eBay, you'd get a mint and then you can go back and see whether you can get the copper one:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. I quoted the 1200 minutes and 1000 text deal for the C905 and they said that because I had only been with O2 for 6 months I cant have that deal for £27, I could only have it for £30 per month. Needless to say I took it up straight away. I dont really get why they dont offer the deals straight away, why must they make you call over and over again??0

...and why if you've only been an o2 customer for 6months do you get a decent deal??? Ive been with them for about 10years (going back to BT Genie days!), and they haven't been very forthcoming with deals for me:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. With great difficulty is the answer! I've called them up so many times and requested my PAC code three seperate times. I guess it all comes down to the person you speak to and what mood they're in0 -
Unfotunately, that appears to be the case:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. 5th time on to O2 and have been offered the following:
750 mins/100 texts + unlimted data bolt on (or any other bolt on) + free Samsung Tocco or SE C902 = £20 pm
Wouldn't do the XDA Ignito or LG Renoir for less than £25pm so the limit to the £20 deals seems to be phones that cost circa £200 on O2's website.
The Blackberry 8110 was also £25 because apparently, even though the handset is cheaper, you need a 'special' Blackberry data tariff which is £10 pm in itself.
Apparently they no longer offer the LG Secret (even though it's still on the website).
The only other offer the lady I spoke to made was for the Palm Treo 500. Apparently I can get a 'good deal' on this but will have to wait until she rings me back on Thursday to find out what it is (dinner was ready).
Ant thoughts on these...
Cheers.
Just had a thought - I'm going to see if I can get a £250 handset i.e. Renoir, C905 or X1 for £20 pm and pay £50 for the handset. Seems logical to me but when has logic come in to retentions deals...0
