Anyone know if O2 or doing any deal on the Samsung Omnia, due to upgrade tomorrow and trying to get the best deal for myself. Currently using a SE K850i on a £20/month contract of 750mins and 1000texts. Any other recommendations for a touchscreen mobile also welcome

    thanks in advance

Unfortunately they dont and wont be doing the Omnia. Was after it myself, but it's too close a competator to the iPhone apparently. They do the Tocco and will be doing the Pixon, but the release date has been moved again to next week...

I was after the XDA Ignito, but its a no go....... they want £99 for it on a £20 p/m contract with 600 mins/ unlimited txt and internet use. My boss got it, his wife got it.... now they tell me its not on offer anymore

I was offered the Ignito for free, 600mins, 1000 texts and unlimited internet for 20/month just 5 minutes ago. I think if you talk about switching to Vodaphone for the Omnia and mention that your friend got the Ignito deal with O2 then they might be able to?

My advice is keep trying with retensions.

It took 5 calls and settled on free ignito, 600 calls, 1000 txt and internet for £25 month on 18 month contract.

Was offered the same a month ago but wasn't sure and didn't take it.
Then called another 4 times recently and they all tried to put me on 30 day rolling contract.

I think some people have got this for £20 a month, but my usage was not high.

Did try what chattycathy posted and waited for a scouse voice to answered and did work,

  • I wan't sure when I was due an upgrade so rang o2 in mid october to ask. I was told that it would be the 5th November. Rang today and was told that my upgrade wasn't due until the 21st November. Seeming that noone actually knew when my upgrade was due I thought I would use this to my advantage and rang through to retentions to enquire how I would go about cancelling my contract. Got through to a very helpful lady called Sheila (funnily enough, scouse accent) who looked through my account and said that she was very sorry but my upgrade date is actually the 7th Nov - something to do with my current phone being dispatched on the 7th of the month. Anyway she apologised that I have been messed about and marked on my account and said that I would be offered a SUPER upgrade if I ring back tomorrow. Will be very interested to see what there idea of a SUPER upgrade is. I currently pay £25 per month for 200 mins and 400 texts, I'm gonna try for 600 mins and unlimited texts for the same price with a free samsung tocco thrown in for good measure. Of course I'm going to threaten to leave until I get somewhere near that offer! Does anyone rate my chances??

On an 18 month deal- very high. £25 a month should also get you the internet bolt on so I'd try for that as well, as you may want to use the internet on such a high end phone.

Ok just of the phone from 02, for me to upgrade to a touchscreen mobile i got to reasonable offers (well i think so anyway)
    Offer 1(18months): 02 XDA Ignito - 600mins & 1000 texts, Unlimited Web Browsing £25 inc VAT
Offer 2(18months): Samasung Tocco- 1200mins & 1000 texts, Unlimited Web Browsing (free gift is a leather case) £27 inc VAT

what do you guys think of this? Reading a few reviews on the XDA Ignito and the battery life seems very poor
