I was thinking about switching to Simplicity until a deal I like comes along, in the terms and conditions it says there is a 30 day notice period, does this apply when you upgrade or will they let you change tarrifs straight away if it's onto an 18 month etc?0

I am with 02 via CPW. My contract expired in sept so went onto simplicity (£20pm) until the c905 was released. Phoned retention yesterday and was told they would beat or match any deal i had found so quoted the p4u deal -
free phone
12 month vodafone contract -anytime 40 or text 40 £40PM
8 months 1/2 price via cash back with an addtional £50 via quidco.
Was offered by 02
free phone,
12 month contract( which suprised me as previous messages state no 12 month contract with 02) with £60 cashback
400 min and 200 text £40pm or
18 month contact with 600 min unlimited txt £35pm.
Was told this was the best they could do - when I reminded them thay they had told me only a few minutes earlier about their pledge to beat or match other deals, I was told a manager would have to be consulted and i would receive a phone call within 30 minutes - That was yesterday, suprise surprise no call back and the p4U offer has now expired so left high and dry!0 -
The Xperia X1 is now available on Vodafone, FREE phone £40 for 900xnet mins, unlimited texts and unlimited 500MB web browsing + £90 Quidco makes it a pretty good deal. I'm not hanging around anymore to see what o2 can offer, I know they can't get close to that deal.
The above deal is a 24 month contract, £45 on a 18 month contract...0 -
Getting o2 on a 12month contract is my aim, but they just dont want to do it!:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Please don't be offended if that opinion differs from yours, but feel free to click the 'Thanks' button if it's at all helpful!0

sorry to seem dumb..
But "unlimited 500MB web browsing", doesn't seem unlimited to me... or does this all fall into the silly "fair useage" wordings
:-(
It's 200mb, not 500mb. It's pretty lame really. http://www.o2.co.uk/mobilestariffs/tariffs/consumerdatabolton0 -
I've been an O2 customer for 7 years and am on a 12 month contract. My girlfriend recently upgraded to the SE C902 and gave it to me so I'm not interested in that! My contracts up in December and I currently receive 600mins and 1000texts for £35. I was interested in the iphone but really don't like paying for phones and I HATE 18 month contracts.
I'm looking at the Samsung i900 Omnia. What do people think my chances are of getting this phone for free and giving me a better deal on a 12 month contract? I would also consider the SE C905 but it seems a little on the bulky side.
My main aim is to get a free phone and stay on my current 12 month deal but it would be great if they could improve on it for instance including unlimited web browsing - what do you think my chances are?0 -

O2 don't have the Omnia so you will have to buy one separately or go with a different company if you want that. I think they are pretty stuck on 18 month contracts as a minimum these days. It doesn't hurt to call and find out, but they wont be able to help you until the last 30 days of your contract so you will have to wait until then before calling.0 -

Is it a dead cert that they don't do the Omnia? I know its not on their website but I've rang up for upgrades before that weren't on their site and been sucessful. Bottom line is I won't be renewing with them if they insist I need to go onto an 18month contract, I'm flexible on the phone as long as its decent, N95, C905, Omnia, etc....0 -

The 500MB refers to Vodafone not o2
