  • Im really hacked off with o2 at the min. I've been trying 2 get a retention deal on the new SE C905 phone and every time u ring them they are out of stock or never had any in even tho they have them on the o2 website and in the o2 shops. Has any1 actually had any luck in getting this phone from o2 directly? I will go elsewhere if they can't offer me the phone i want. When i rang 2day they said it was due in next week, but i dont hold out much luck.

I'm well miffed too, I was going to go for the deal that Phones4U had with Voda for teh c905 on Wednesday: 12 month, £40 a month but with 8 months 1/2 price via cashback. Decided I would ring O2 for PAC code and one last try to see if the phone was on the system. It wasn't so the guy talked me into waiting until Thursday, saying that the Phones4U deal wasn't going to disappear overnight. Livid-it did and now by Thursday morning the deal was gone:mad:

Now got my PAC and no decent deal to move to, guess I'll have to wait and phone tomorrow, sounds like I'm not going to get a good deal though. However the guy at retentions di say that 12 months deal were still available.

But how does someone from O2 know when a Phones4U offer will or will not end?

    I have been offered 600 minutes+unlimited landline calls + Nokia 6300-18month contract @ 20.00 /month.
In current scenario i don't think that deal is bad.

they don't but it made sense that the offer would last more than a day

I think that's a rather poor deal unlesss you're going to be able to use all the free minutes. You can get the 6300 for £80 on PAYG and take up something much cheaper on SIM only (e.g. O2 now offer a £10 Simplicity deal) without being tied in for 18 months.
  • I'm going to ring Retentions this week.

Not sure what i want yet, but if i take an offer to keep my existing phone, i presume on a 18 mth deal, what if my phone packs in during that 18 mths, which is a possibility as i'm in building trade, what would be the options? are you tied in the 18 mnth period, the same as a new contract?

Thats the standard offer they r making these days. But i think the sales person was trying to be cheeky with you and offered you 6300. Me and my friend was offered the same deal but with free SE c902.

In the end i told them that i dont want any new handset. so they applied a credit of £150 to my account and in the end it will cost me apporx £11 a month for my contract.

P.S : what do u guys think was a better deal. free c902 or £150 credit to the account?
  • You could always just go onto to a sim only contract, rather than tying in for another 18 months, cuz if it breaks then you can just upgrade onto a new contract with a phone x
  • Well guys, I gave in! The sales person was too intimidating - haha!

I ended up going for the SE C905 for £27 a month (1500 mins, 1000 texts and unlimited internet) for 18 months... I can then go down to £21 a month after 9 months... but I have to pay £49.99 for the phone (but will get that back recycling my phone with Mazumi Mobile).

If anybody wants the guys name who sorted me out with the deal - just ask...

I was tempted by a T-Mobile deal on Mobiles.co.uk, that I wanted to go for instead - but O2 made it impossible for me to leave... he had an answer to every one of my complaints... the T-Mobile deal was SE C905 for £35 a month (500 mins, 375 texts) for 12 months... with phone for £39.99 (covered for by £35 from Quidco and money for recycling phone).

To confirm, they do offer 12 month contracts to existing customers who have a substantial usage amount on their bills over the years they've been with O2 - however, they were only able to offer me the C902 on a 12 month contract.

    Good luck guys!
