    morning

Feel like I have a hangover, but not a drop of alcohol has passed my lips this week! Oh well, think it's this horribly weather we have up North at the moment. nothing like a tornado though. hope all the OS'ers are OK. glad to hear you are OK rnshon

jw - get better soon and good luck with the interview

vickyA - lucky you with a free lunch. Can I come too?! :D

pooky - organic meat - did you by any chance see that tv programe last night

TM - thanks for orgaising the OS meet. I'll check the diary and PM you.

sweet pea - your story really made me giggle this morning. Hope DD2 has recovered from not being locked in her sisters bedroom!

a bit chilly in the office today - off to make a cup of tea.

No didn't watch it - I can guess what it was like tho.

Like a lot of other people, finances and ignorance and dare I say it convenience (what ever I thought that meant at the time) have all played different roles in my life. I'm aware that what I've fed us all on in the past isn't good but I've seen the error of my ways and want to start living a better life. I know that in an ideal world we'd all be rearing our own meat, growing our own veg and cutting down on pollution, along with countless other things but the population as a whole seem to have lost their way. There's a whole work/life balance out there that I won't go into and everybody strives to find the way that works for them -- sometimes its easy for others to sit there and point the finger and say -- ohhhh you shouldn't be doing this and you shouldn't be doing that, shouldn't eat this and you never know what's gone into that....but to actually take all the info on board and change your intire life style takes an awful lot of time and engery...something that quite a lot of people don't have because of their work/life balance lifestyle.

I know I've still got a lot to change to make my life and my families lives better and I'm working at it bit by bit and getting so much support and help from OS and MSE as a whole that I really do wonder why Martin hasn't been made a Saint.....I'd bow down before him...but then that's a different story ;)

    Morning!

Not having a very OS day today as I'm at work, although I did make breakfast instead of buying it from the coffee shop on the way to work. Funny thing is that it tasted much nicer as well as saving me money!

It's just as well I saved money because I got my pay slip through today. I was due to get some back pay and was expecting c.180 pounds...........but only got 80 pounds. Apparently I'd done my sums wrong :-( So instead of feeling chuffed that I've got a bit of extra money I'm feeling really miffed that I've 'lost' 100 pounds. I'd been looking forward to the money for a couple of months but, instead, I'm utterly fed up because I won't be able to use the money as planned. Grrrr.

  • Afternoon all! yummy scones  They're on the meal planner for tomorrow night. Tonight is leftover lentil bolognese - should be an interesting aroma in our house in the morning!!!! :rotfl:

Good luck with the interview, JW, and I'm just about to find out what else I've missed today ...

Proudest moment so far today? I caused a HUGE queue behind me using up all the vouchers I have - a special thank you to Zziggi for thoe extra vouchers  - and saved £9.75 on a £45.29 shop :T :T :T Which means I got a new kettle so can throw away the broken dangerous one. WOO HOOOOOOO! (note to self, must get a life sometime soon :rotfl: )

Bumper purchases of bread flour, stork and raisins means yummy cookies to bake this afternoon and bread too. I'm planning on going to the cheap bookshop warehouse near us this weekend and buy the breadmaker and slowcooker recipe books. I fancied the look of cheese and onion bread, but ASDA doesn't sell onion powder. Any ideas anyone?
