We did some cooking this afternoon.I did biscuits and DD made currant buns.
We had sausage toad for tea and then currant bun with HM bird cherry jam (which did eventually set enough to be spreadable rather than pourable :) )
OH is always saying..'Tea? .... Currant Bun?' and then pointing out that there arent any :D He will be so suprised when we say 'Yes there are!'

Friend went at 3.30pm, so I spent the next hour manically tidying ready for the letting agents to check the house out - ie making sure the house is still standing. :D I hope that our landlord doesn't pay very high fees to the agent as she whizzed in through the door, into the kitchen and then back out again.

OH has text me to say that he'll be back home late from work as his computer has died. As he works in IT it's quite vital that it works! :rotfl:

And congrats and all that stuff :D

Thanks and yes, been there. It's quite good and I've got loads of tips from it - but I thought I'd just remind you all! However, I won't bore you with all the gruesome girly details................. OH looks thoroughly bored everytime I vaguely mention it. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D :rotfl:

I have just tried a new recipe in my MR breadmaker - cheese and onion bread.

It came out of machine 10 mins ago and has nearly all been eaten!

    It is gorgeous!!!!!!

Hubby so impressed he offered to drive me to supermarket so I can get flour to make 2 more tomorrow!

Everyone adores the loaf - from 11 year old to teenagers and us!

    Very pleased. :j

    Hello!

Feeling a touch better now ive had some sleep, and the docs gave me some lovely antibiotics (penicillin free of course) so heres hoping that they work. Im about to go online shopping to cheer myself up, but will obviously go through greasypalm to get the cashback and discounts!

Boyf wants his hair cutting tonight, but he will have to wait until after Supermarket secrets, and Bank of Mum and Dad, as I really want to watch those.

Right now, im off for a bath, then might pluck eyebrows and do nails, or maybe some research for the interview tomorrow. I will be painkillering myself up for that too, I must appear fit and healthy!!

    See you later!

Hi to all especially poorly ones
Had to visit "no more babies" clinic today so got home feeling very poorly - 1 offspring happy to wonder off & amuse herself but the other was sticking like a limpet and I was just a tad hormonal! So I thought I'ld use up the Strawberrys in the fridge & make jam for the first time in the breadmaker. 20 mins in and sizzle sizzle jam overflowing
Well that was kinda of to be expected on the day I was having but I wasn't going to give in! Jam not setting so I walloped it in a pan boiled it up and managed somehow to produce lovely jam :T Also managed to drop glass lid off jar on floor and shatter into a thousand pieces
Limpet daughter then rose to the challenge of producing sponge cake on her on while mummy supervised from table with cup of tea & 2 ibuprofen :A
result:- nicest victoria sponge ever in the whole wide world with bestest jam filling ever :T :A :T
Can't help feeling I may wake up any minute!
Why didn't anyone tell me jam making was sooo easy? (and sooo good!!!)
  • Well, we had a fab day - and Madagascar was GREAT :rotfl: :T :rotfl:

I'd heartily recommend it to everyone. DS was fascinated, dd was interested but napped halfway through, and I had tears rolling down my cheeks.

I hope my birthday's as fun ... we might go watch the new herbie movie if it's out by then ...
