Ive got my casserole (minus veggies, just meat pulses and sauce, not feeling up to going to asda) on the cook, had a bite of lunch, showered, made some more extensions and headdresses.
Just turned on news24 and they have made 2 raids in London, 1 in notting hill and one in north kensington (where OH has thankfully just left). lets hope they catch the rotten barstewards who did this eh?!
Cant wait for OH to get home... ive really missed him this week but i know i will feel better as he is in Bristol for the next 2 weeks and away from the capital! :T
Gonna pounce on him when he gets home and give him a weeks worth of hugs... then send him to the shop for wine and sweeties for tonight... we've got 'the descent' to watch.
Have a good'n all0 -
First time posting on here - though have read every one since it started! (wheres queenie - boo hoo)
This is what I should have done today:
done all my washing (been working away for a few days)
unpacked and put away
designed a new course to deliver week after next
wrote an article
sorted my bills and expenses
sorted out a very untidy office
and heres what I have done:
watched my gardeners (for a few hours!)
surfed on here (for even longer)
done one lot of washing (on a airer as we speak)
one lot still in the washing machine
OOPS
Chilli beef for tea though (out of the freezer) in hope that Curry Queen will come back too!!
Hope you all had a much more productive Friday xxx0 -

I have spent all day trying to remove spyware from computer and making two cheese and onion loaves as they are so popular with the family.
Still struggling with computer and making home made potato salad for a quick tea."This site is addictive!"

Had a VERY slow start to the day!
At least guests felt comfortable, so comfortable that they had breakfast & lunch in pyjamas -eventually got everyone moving by about 2, well they are teenagers!!
Had thunderstorms last night, and rain on and off today, so having problems getting washing dry, just hope the black clouds keep going over, the first load is 'nearly dry' until it rains again.
Went shopping and found they sell Nescafe refill packs here, about 20% cheaper than the jars, so a pleasant surprise, also mozzarella on special multi-buy - DS2 is addicted to mozzarella salads (it could be a lot worse).
All savings already spent though, as had just found a super book on cardmaking in a discount book shop on the way, I've always wanted to have a go, hope it will save & maybe earn money in the future. Well it's a good excuse
Going to be tofu & vegetable curry tonight, but cheating and using a jar of curry mix. Hope the visitors like it, they'd never heard of tofu .
Only 4 weeks left before we move out & scatter as a family again. The first 4 weeks has gone so quickly.
OH get back again tonight :j , he's already emailed to say he's on his way with a bottle of wine.
Have a good weekend.0 -
I walked 6 miles this morning,3 to the garden centre and the same back again.
I bought some seeds to go in my mud.I bought £ 15 worth and found they were half price (YAY!)
Ive been clearing away the bindweed that has appeared in the 6 weeks since I dug away the brambles and its now ready for them to go in.
DD made brownies today(they are very sticky and lovely)
Bolognaise is on the go for tea (no OH this evening as he does his special constabulary work friday night so all the more for us) ,its my DS's favourite.0 -

Don't you worry, you two. I've already scared the poor chap off. When I pm'd him about the OS meet, I offered to share a room with him - all in the name of saving money of courseSo, if he doesn't turn up, sorry guys, it was me what done it
Wel, emptied the bank account:
1 major car service
1 x 12 months tax for Mr TM's car
need 2 new tyres for my car
Need new roof bars for my car which I still haven't sorted (ebay here we come)
However, did a quick shop at Tesco just to use the lovely vouchers zziggi sent - £8 off £32 shop. Will be doing more runs, but DS2 was being a screaming banshee by the time I'd finished so decided to head home and let him sleep. Did miss entirely the meat section at Tesco and went to my local butchers (didn't get as far as the market) - who are relatives of teh butcher on the progAnyway, bought some lovely steak and kidney and will be doing it in slow cooker tomorrow. Haven't had kidney for years as Mr TM refuses to eat it.
Off to make some mash now to go with lovely saus casserole - the smell is making me reeeeeally hungry.
Oh, and my friend who turned up today will probably go out and buy a breadmaker - We've demolished the loaf and most of the fruit bread I'd made, so bready will be going on again later
See ya

afternoon all
Not very o/s yet as stuck at work all day (boo) but Mum's coming up to stay tonight and we're planning to make lots of lovely things tommorrow afternoon in preparation for the mega bbq at night and stuff for sundays picnic. If it's raining we'll send the boys out to the barbie with brollies and eat the picnic in the minibus
left my flat spotless this morning (hard work and lots of vinegar!) in preparation...
so far my plan for makes is:
BBQ
Salsa (tomatoes, peppers, onion and garlic)
Burgers (mince, breadcrumbs, onion and a bit of chilli? I think)
new potatoes with garlicky butter (well, the butter I'll make)
to be served with large salad and rolls (no breadmaker and weak arms!)
Picnic
Quiche
Banana and peanut loaf
Choccie Muffins
sandwiches
all things that don't really need cutlery...
any ideas for either greatfully recieved.
Will the burgers need an egg to hold them together?Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -
I always put a beaten egg in my home made burgers - I also use chicken or turkey mince and bake in oven to cut down on fat."This site is addictive!"

Beaten to it
Yep, eggs are usually used to help bind things together.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
