    Hi everyone,
I've had a good day so far. Had a lie in til half 9 (been getting up about 6am every day for the past month including weekends). Finished the Harry Potter book - and cried!! Then my boyfriend took me to Leeds to buy a ring for my birthday which is in 2 weeks. Trawled round the charity shops looking for some books about knitting and quilting which I want to have a go at, but all the books were quite expensive I thought for charity shops. I did get Delia's 3rd cook book for 4 pounds though which I'm pleased with - and on the way home stopped at Borders and I bought 2 big craft books in the bargain section reduced to a fiver each from 20 quid, so tonight I'm gonna have a look through them to try and see what projects I want to start.
Boyfriend is now sanding the paint off the skirting boards and bannister in our hall, and I've just had a really big clearup and have used our dryer for the first time that we got FREE from Freecycle (I have to get all the work clothes washed as I've got to work away next week)
Now I'm just sat here with the kitten while our pizza and garlic bread cooks (Sat night equivalent of takeaway but cheaper) and then I think we'll probably have a nice cheap night with a couple of cans and a DVD :-)

    Evening everyone.

Not exactly and old style day today as we went into town to watch the carnival procession and dh insisted on spending money.

And then to top it all off I came home and bought a computer :D We upgraded mine so much since we got it that it no longer plays most of my old favourite games so I e-bayed and found just the right one for £29.99 but considering even cash converters were selling one very similar for £150 I think I got a good buy anyway.

    Hey hey hey!

Had a very naff day today, well it started well, got up, made OH breakfast on the sofa, received my replacedment boots card and things were peachy till the washing machine died :( so instead of handwashing in the bath (i have a very large pile) i trekked off to my grandmas who thankfully lives 10 mins away, did 3 loads of washing, dried some on her radiators and got a lunch and numerous cups of tea all in the bargain. We then trouped off to the local retail parks to look for washing machines

Still not feeling 100% so OH took me to sainsburys and let me pick what i wanted for tea, didnt really know what i wanted to i picked scampi and i feel a bit queasy now i have had them, but i got pecan danish and ice cream for afters so yum yum.

Wrote a letter of complaint today against a company selling condoms and what not (https://www.erosshop.co.uk) that i wanted to order a few bits and bobs from, they are good as they sell single condoms instead of packs so you can try which ones you want before hand but they had recently made a £7 minimum spend compulsory. The stuff i wanted to buy was only about 20p each so thats a lot of stuff just to get it up to £7 so hopefully they will let me put an order through for the £3.

    rant over.
Off for a nap, had a shattering day

its been raining nearly all day today so no gardening :(
I traipsed around town instead looking for vitamin c tablets(for the breadmaker).I found some but they contain a LOT of other things I didn't fancy putting in our bread so I came home without them.I did find 2 very useful gardening books though with step by step tasks through the year etc in a charity shop.We had a very strange tea of liver and onions with baked potatoes ,cucumber and lettuce as that is what was in the fridge to use up .

Hi everyone....love these daily summaries of our OS days.

Today I had a lovely long, long, long lie in.....unfortunately I tend to suffer from insomnia and sleep in bursts of 3-4 hours - consequently I'm always knackered (even have power naps at work but shhh don't tell anyone!), but this morning, or should I say afternoon I slept like a baby until...err not telling it's embarrassingly late!

By the time I did get out of my lovely bed I just did a wee bit of pottering around, you know how you can spend a day or so doing nothing in particular. Then got my butt in gear and went off for a mega long walk up a nearby hill - took about an hour and 15 mins to get to the top, then 15 mins to get to the bottom. It was mighty steep.

On the way home bought a bottle of wine...and guess what, got chatted up in the offy. Can't understand it, face was still puce from the walk and I my clothes were a bit urm...soggy from the effort. He was a nice bloke but I legged it all the same.

So now, I've had my casserole which was wafting in the slow cooker...umm gorgeous, made out of some reduced apples and some reduced Lincolnshire sausages, plus mustard and cranberry sauce. Flipping delicious. Oh and I opened the wine and on one single glass am a phished as a newt! Think I am gonna sleep well tonight too...

Night all, hope you're having a fab Saturday evening.

    Well in Snowy Owl!!

Reckon you probably need to increase your tolerance to wine so maybe another visit to the offy is in order???

Hope you're having the saturday night of your dreams nelski!

    Morning All

Dry & quite bright here in Kent this morning!

Today OH has to collect an old fashioned white georgian style metal framed bed for DS won on ebay. It is still in the box and RRP £250+-I won for £54.00 and will cost about £5 in petrol :T DS is very happy as we're doing her bedroom at the moment and so far looks great and have spent about £100 inc bed

First washload in all ready and have another 2/3 to do-hopefully weather will stay dry but if not the tumble drier will have to be used  Stairs need hoovering (DS job), cleaned toilet already and unloaded dishwasher. How do we go through so many glasses???? OH will be doing some more of bedroom this afternoon and I have some ebay stuff to sort out.

Having Lamb chops, HM roasties, HM yorkies, stuffing, veg & gravy for dinner and a cheesecake for pud that we got reduced to 35pence.

Well suppose to be on bed rest but so bored and feel like i should be doing something-so using my sticks and chair and doing bits sitting down etc.

    Have a great day!

    Penny-Pincher!!

    Morning p-p.

Have got to do some houseworky chores today - I spent so long yesterday running round all the various supermarkets using up my expiring vouchers, that when I got home, I didn't feel that much like tackling bathroom etc. Also, DS2, tired as he is, is in a habit of not going to bed - 9pm last night

Need to go to B&Q today as the £10 voucher I got for opening one of their cards expires tomorrow and I do need to start doing my bedroom.

Most of this afternoon will be taken up visiting my dad in hospital. He's having a bad time at the moment and was rushed in again this w/e. Unfortunately he has lots of secondary cancers and they seem to be winning at the moment. We shall see :(

OK, going to finish my breakfast and then watch some news - don't seem to have watched any all week.

    Enjoy your day everyone :)
