  • Morning!

Sorry to hear about your dad Ticklemouse - hope he will be OK.

Managed to get the house clean in time for my mum's arrival yesterday so not a lot to do today. We are off to church then to visit the 'Back to Back Houses' museum in Birmingham. I've been once before and it's a fascinating place - REALLY old style although I don't think I'd like to go back to cleaning my clothes in a tub and having to cross the courtyard to go to the loo in the middle of the night!

Roast chicken for dinner tonight with all of the trimmings - don't do it very often but I luurrrve a good roast.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.

TM - thoughts are with you. *hugs*

Going to enjoy a not particulalrly OS day today as the MIL is coming over and OH is still in his frittering mode. We have agreed to go to B&Q and buy some liner and gravel for the front garden, speculate to accumulate...We're hoping spending a tenner on the front garden may make it more likely we get out depost back on the flat, which when we are going to move into our own mortgaged house £300 can go a long way, even if it just pays for the groceries and what not for the first few months while wages go on big things.

Having bacom butties with reduced ciabatta and bacon from sainsburys yesterday, hopefully going to go see my parents as grandma gave them a shovel for us yesterday but as it was locked in their house we couldnt get it (grandma and parents live next door to each other).

As much as i love OH im quite looking forward to him going away again so i can restore the peace and tidiness.

Roast chicken and trimmings for tea. mmmmm

TM- I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and your dad, *hugs*.

Last night we had our BBQ party, OH was determined it would still go ahead despite the pouring rain so he and the lads held a giant umbrella over the BBQ and brought the food inside to us girlies when it was cooked LOL!

Before we went to bed last night I made myself bring all the empty glasses and crockery through to the kitchen so that the living room was clear, and put lots of plates etc in a bowl of soapy water overnight. I was glad I'd made the effort this morning when I came downstairs.

Not sure what to do today, might do some preparation for my slimming class this week, but on the whole I'm feeling pretty lazy so don't know if I'll have a very productive day. To be fair though the house looks immaculate as we had a major clean before our guests arrived yesterday.
Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)

Or remove foil. Make sure they are completely dry then lightly oil them and then roll them in course sea salt.

    gas 5 for about 1 to 1 1/4 hours.

Crispy skinned delicious spuds a la Saint Delia :D
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

    Afternoon all...

    TM - Hugs to you

Having another lazy day today as im still on the antibiotics and felt I should milk boyf for all the sympathy and tea I can get!

Been looking for places to move to, and the hunt is still going badly, simply because there isnt enough sweet little country houses in our budget here (sighs...)

Not much else going on today, have to pack some more stuff as it looks like we are going to have to move next week as Landlord is being difficult, he wont extend the rental agreement by one month even though he hasnt even let the house out yet - and its been on for months (a student place) and only had one viewing and they clearly hated the place, the only way the landlord is going to let this place is during the week before uni starts when the first years who cant get in halls come to find accommodation - which is going to be late september. He's obviously freaking out because he is losing rent right now (6 rooms free) and is trying to force boyf to sign a 12 months contract - although his parents are on the case now and have told him he can have another month if he wants, but he isnt getting 12months as they will have to be the guarantor and refuse to do it, as even they hate this place!

We might have to go to his parents for a little while if the landlord doesnt compromise, in the middle of deepest darkest wiltshire, so wev'e decided that I will sublet one of our student freinds rooms until he comes back to uni so he doesnt have to pay the rent, I will have somewhere temporary near to work, and boyf will stay at parents witht the cat until he has a job, then can find somewhere then. Alternatively, there are a couple of B+B's locally for about £12 per night, so thats another option if student freind decides he's coming back soon, and as it would techincally only be 4 nights accommodation a week, its practical in terms of £.

Still - not a great situation to be stuck in, and might mean moving all our stuff out early next week for a little while, combined with both me and boyf having other interviews to attend and me trying to get better, its going to be a difficult week. But, even so, its better than boyf signing a 12month contract, as we want to be together in our own place without other noisy smelly students disrupting everything.

Anyway, I suppose it would be worth starting to pack today, I dont really feel like it but its gotta be done, and saves doing it tomorrow! One good thing about parents though, is that they always have a washer and a dryer, and we have a lot of laundry to do!

Hope everyone has a lovely day with a nice Roast, I thought about making one but cant bring myself to cook that chicken in the freezer  Damn TV!!

    Hi everyone,
I've had a busy day so far . . . Got up at 7am and went to the car boot sale to look for a sewing machine, the only one I managed to find had just been sold :-(
Ran into boyfs mum at the car boot and told her I was trying to find a sewing machine, and she told me she's got one I can have that she's never used!! So I'm going to transfer £30 into my savings account (that was about what I was hoping to spend)
Went to the driving range on the way home from the car boot sale, and then went to the gym too. Having a tidyup at the mo while boyf is sanding again, and my mum and dad are coming round to bring us a sideboard they no longer need because they've got a new one.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi everyone!

TM (((((HUGS))))) to you and your Dad.
Jo - hope you get the living accomodation sorted out soon!

Well have just been to Farmfoods and stocked up on all the basics and found white vinegar @ 2 for £1 cheapest so far around here so much to dd's surprise I loaded up the trolley with 1/2 dozen bottles! Once I told her what I used it for I was down to 5 bottles and dd had some vinegar to take home with her ;) Also stocked up on tins of condensed soup (make good sauces in the slow cooker) @ 3 for £1 and loads of other stuff.

Made a huge prawn curry for dinner, but it all went  so will have to make more if I want some for the freezer. I am trying to put a supply of meals in the freezer for oh for when I go visit my sister.
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

    Boy am I pleased!!

Boyf's mum called landlord today and pretty much bullied him into taking another months rent and no chance of another 12 Month contract - so we have a 4 week reprieve! Thank GOD!!

Anyway, this means that we have a definate one month before we have to move, so ive got a lot to do. My list so far is:

Pack pretty much everything ahead of time

Do lots of laundry and stay on top of it

Do storecupboard challenge and try not to shop at all

Hope I have a job within a couple of days

Start saving with avengeance for rest of deposit (Pin challenge here I come)

Organise Mail (have a lot all over the place and desperately needs organisation)

Get finances in order (spreadsheet prepared already!)

Prepare letters for Change of Address

Buy a Kettle (mysteriously broke today  )

Find somewhere to live!! (know any good private landlords in Bristol/Bath??)

    Buy a Cat Carrier

And I cant think of anything else - but needless to say, im pretty pleased, we just have a lot to do!

Right, im off to make some dinner, and maybe inventory the freezer!!
