Gosh @Longwalker no way could I go that long without more than a coffee. Can you get some quick or on-the-go items like banana, satsumas, grapes, and or those noodle pots that just need boiling water added. Think the chicken and mushroom one is just 1.5 swips (someone else may be able to confirm).

I worry about you driving a long distance with no sustenance - don’t want you fainting at the wheel. Sorry things are so rubbish xx

I have woken with another headache. Definitely dehydrated so will make more effort to drink today. We are off to Canterbury for the theatre later but plan to run some errands first and will eat beforehand. May try The Ivy’s 2-course light menu or Spoons if too busy. Have had a banana so far.

Morning all, another dry day but much cloudier than the last couple of days.

I agree @Coxy11 that's a very long time without food or drink other than a coffee @Longwalker. I also think you need to think about some things you can grab on the go. Could you find the time to make at least a sandwich or pitta filled with salad and some protein of some sort that you could easily eat in the car once you get to the hospital before you go to see your mum?

Enjoy Canterbury @Coxy11. Do you use the P&R to visit the city? It's definitely the cheapest place to park at £4 and you can use your parking ticket for the 16 bus back up from the town centre after the P&R buses stop running.

Let us know what the Ivy's light 2 course menu is like. It's usually been very busy when we've been in town so end up in Spoons!

    Today's plan:

    B - ham and mushroom omelette - P; S
L - toasted cheese sandwich, pickles - Fibre, Calcium, S
    D - harissa beef stew (from freezer), mash, veg - P; S; F; 2

    Fibre - bread
Calcium - cheese, milk in drinks
Swips - apricots in stew 2

    Have a good day everyone.

Definitely take something to eat in the car @Longwalker, even if it's only a banana. I've only fainted twice in my life (fortunately not while driving) and one of those times was because I was stressed and hadn't eaten.🤗

Definitely a NSV and true mse getting that top @Matron_Midge. Well done!

You can still have your picnic @Glad and I'd use either an Aldi or Sheldon's bap because I buy those regularly. As you don't take the dog for a hike every day, you could have your sandwich as a second fibre choice. I never use spread, as my sandwich fillings are wet enough along with cheese or mustard or LTL mayo. You could use swips for your crisps as you really enjoy them.

I find it hard not to fall asleep in the theatre @Coxy11 , there's something about the lights going down that triggers it. I don't snore though as DH soon pokes me to wake me up! 🤣

That's a shocking story about the 45minute coffee @joedenise . Poor customer service is one of my favourite current soapboxes. We seem to pay more and more for less and less.☹️

I meant to ask @bubbs , what sort of casserole did you make with the potato topping? I do it with a lamb hotpot but what else?🤔

We had a delicious lunch with my cousin yesterday. She'd made a fish pie, followed by a crumble with ice cream. Not very SW friendly but really enjoyed it.😋 I've never made a fish pie myself but would like to give it a try. I know you make it sometimes @joedenise . I looked up this recipe.
Healthy fish pie recipe - BBC Food
and thought I could tweak this a bit. How do you do yours?🤔

I should have weighed this morning but didn't manage to fit it in. I've decided to be kind to myself, do 'good when I can' for a few weeks before weighing again. Ideally I'd have been in target range first but we're out again tomorrow, it's my birthday in a couple of weeks and we're going to Belgium next month. I know I'll stick to plan in between but I find lots of STS and yo-yoing doesn't help me when I can't get a run at it.

Liver & onions today and we'll have some gravy but not sure whether it'll be granules or make my own yet, probably the latter.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, bacon, eggs (P), tomatoes (S)< HEA milk
    L- JP (F), prawns (P), salad (S)
    D- liver, bacon, & onions (P,S), mash (F), veg (S)
Swips- LTL mayo 1, cornflour 1?

I make my fish pie pretty much the same way as the BBC recipe although I use individual fillets of fish rather than buying fish pie mix. I use salmon, white fish and smoked fish using haddock. I cook the fish enough to be able to skin it and flake it and stir into a cheese sauce. I usually add a handful or two of frozen prawns as well along with the peas and top with mash. I usually use just normal potato mash rather than adding swede to it as DH isn't keen.

I'm due to weigh tomorrow but not feeling as though I've lost anything - I fancied chocolate mid week and ended up eating half a bar! I've tried to keep low swips but not sure it's been enough but will see in the morning!

    Evening all 😁

LW you must eat and look after yourself too.

Maman i used beef cubes, had onions and carrots in it too. Also done it with chicken using a Heinz can of soup which was 1.5( think it was chicken broth) for the sauce that was lovely too. Use what you like 😁

Not been as nice here today but not the rain they forecast so that's a bonus, hope it's not raining Sat and Sun with moving back home.

Brought the suitcases back from the unit today to start packing tomorrow 😁 I'll empty the cupboards and fridge and clean out and just leave stuff for tea Saturday.

Lunch i had a picky plate, free.

Tea was VILE 🤮🤮🤮i 100% don't recommend it!! Was supposed to be Chinese chicken curry, didn't look or taste like curry, i used JDseasoning and use them for alot of things, won't be using this again and any i have at home will be going in the SOTW basket 🤣🤣 someone else might like it, you never know.

    Oh dear @bubbs , it's rare you have a dud meal. ☹️

    3 more sleeps! 🤣

Thanks for the fish pie info @joedenise .i wouldn't use swede either, too strong a taste, would mask the fish flavour.

thanks for all of the picnic ideas, @Longwalker I love the idea of ‘buttering’ pitta bread with dairy lea light 😋 thank you for thinking of me when you have so much going on, take care of yourself when you can

Lots of other heavily buttered rolls alternatives too, you’re all so helpful ☺️

The last metal spindle went in this morning, and just in time, we were getting very naggy with them, much as I love the quirkiness of my Victorian terrace house, the crookedness of the banisters and newel posts have made this a trying job.

    food today has been

B - overnight oats, 0% greek yoghurt, tangerine HE fibre

L - 3 ryvita thins, fat free cottage cheese, tomatoes, beetroot, cucumber, peppers, 6 swips

D - speedy mushroom ragu with pappardelle pasta, half a swip and HE healthy fat (it had carrots, onions and celery in)

In-betweens - milk HE calcium, apple, tangerine, Ísey skyr baked apple flavour, 1 swip
