Hi all,
Sorry to hear about your Dad @Jellybaby - hope he's home and settled now. Well done on your loss x
Not good about BIL @bubbs - lets hope whatever it turns out to be can be dealt with swiftly x
Well done on the losses @Matron_Midge and @Glad 😀
I weighed in with a 1lb gain - to be expected. I worked today and did a full day (well 10am-3pm) in the office where nobody eats and can hear their tummies complaining! I took herbal tea, almonds, an apple and a chopped up skinny bar. Only managed the apple whilst there as was so busy. Had the skinny bar once home and did myself a toasted bagel. Not a skinny bagel though…I picked up some bagels from Olio last night and they were on the side:
Fitzgeralds Everything Bagels x5 | Sainsbury's
So that's my entire day's swips right there 🙄
Having lamb rojan josh tonight - SW recipe - as got some YS lamb at A$da last week.

@bubbs So sorry to hear about your BIL.
Delighted to fit nicely into a new Boden skirt in a 14. Was worried it might be a bit tight but it’s absolutely perfect.

@Glad, we haven't done our spindles, we have a minstrel gallery staircase - too many to even to contemplate. Luckily we dont smoke and those at the top have furniture protecting them so sugar soaping is the best they are getting
Well done on the loss
@Bubbs - sorry to hear about your BIL , I hope the diagnosis isnt what you expect
@Jellybaby, hope your dad - and mum are both good. It's so hard now they are getting older, when we ourselves are no longer spring chickens . Well done on getting that half pound - they all add up x
Welcome back @Suffolksue Planning works. Having speed to hand - I use frozen a lot now , adding it to everything also works as does proteinProtein doesnt have to be fish and meat, most of mine comes from lentils and legumes and cottage cheese. I also eat a lot of eggs and I do eat tinned fish a couple of times a week. I add dried red lentils to all mince based dishes - doubles the protein and stretches the meat , I add some type of beans to stews and casseroles - butter or pinto - and chickpeas to curries
I refuse to use SWIPS on food so I look at free swaps. Crackers have a swip value, but Peters Yard Sourdough crackers - 5 of them - are a healthy extra . I dont have butter in the house, I use laughing cow light cheese triangles - 4 is a HE Bread is a killer for me, so its doesnt get a look in bar Saturdays I use Warburton protein thins or pittas or German Rye bread - all a healthy extra and I keep to the limit So it is a question of meal planning, if I use a fibre HE for breakfast, I need to choose something else for lunch. On hungry days a jacket spud and baked beans really hits the spot
I dont avoid carbs, but I put speed on the plate, even with a curry Ill have a side of veg
To everyone Ive not mentioned, thank you for the kind words, I do so appreciate every one
Mum has had a tough weekend and she's half the woman she was Friday. MacMillan came down and are reassessing things. Right now she cant get out of bed , nor eat, but she does have an infection. Hopefully if they get on top of that , they can restart the physio and get her fit for discharge. Right now she's very down and thinks she's not got long. It's hard to watch . Hospital are still aiming for discharge but this is 3 weeks in now , and the longer she's in, the less she's able to do1 -
Thanks Beanie and LW, hopefully it is benign .
Well done Beanie 👏👏
LW such difficult times 😢 sending you a massive hug, this is the trouble at that age the less they do laying in hospital , the less they can do when they get out. Thinking of you all 🥰

Thanks @bubbs - will let DH and the adult kids eat the remainder!
Hope the hospital can start the physio soon @Longwalker and that your mum improves enough to come home. Will there be a care plan put in place?
Well done @beanielou on the skirt whoop! X

Bubbs hope your BIL gats on ok
Longawlker hope all goes well for your Mum
These are Aldi cream crackers ,when I bought them last year when I still had the App they were 11/2 syns each
The stewed apple was some of 1lb ( I froze it in lbs ) 450 g I’ve had 4 helpings over the last two days and there’s about 1/3 left , s not sure how to record it ,maybe I’ll weigh what’s left and try and calculate back .
Admit I’ve never really counted it as it’s usually skin on and v lightly stewed
Bought some chicken thighs earlier have cooked them all skinned them and had two as snacks ( with tomatoes)
Have had my chilli added some extra cooked fresh carrots and rice
A raw apple and a satsuma later and bed soon
Oh I did have a stem ginger cookie at Scrabble
Think I’m just within syns/ swips
Thank you all
I do feel more positive that I can get to grips with this

@Suffolksue I use a cup of rice for 2 of us and if it looks too much the dogs can have it mixed into their food
I had an unexpected tea out yesterday with a friend, not a lot of options but had the thai veg curry with rice and flatbread, the flatbread was the size of a dinnerplate so left half.today

Morning everyone,
Thanks for the good wishes for my dad. He’s home and within a few hours both parents were back to being adamant they don’t need any help 🙈 I feel a bit overwhelmed as I’ve no idea how this is going to work. I know tiredness and not eating properly is not helping so I can at least start here.
Hope everything goes well for your BIL @bubbs
I need to pop out for some milk then the rest of the day will be pottering around the house and a few hours with my book.
Breakfast was a sweet omelette with banana, raspberries and yoghurt, there’s pea and ham soup for lunch with a soft pitta stuffed with smoked ham and salad. Dinner is chilli salmon, new potatoes and loads of roasted veg.
