    thanks all

Bubbs I think I eat toast as it’s quick and comforting ( I’ve always been a comfort eater )

I’d cut down on meat /fish to save money .Think I need a serious talk with myself as whilst I’m not rich I have more than enough to get by

Will give myself bigger portions of protein and more veg .

I’ve always loved bread ,potatoes ,pasta and especially rice and have tended to eat more of that and less protein

I don’t do well at home alone so am out a lot and am always happy to have a meal out if asked to join people .Think I will plan 7 breakfasts ,7 lunches and 7 dinners and choose on the day .ive always been a great batch Cook and freeze person ,but have increased veg and reduced protein and then got 5 portions rather than the 4 in the recipe ,think that must stop

    Thank you

Didn't get to post yesterday but did read along. All you can do is your best @Longwalker . It's pleasing that your mum is coping well with the hospital. Just cut yourself some slack and be kind to yourself. Hopefully it'll stop raining and you can get out for some fresh air and time to yourself now and again.🤗

    Well done on your 2lbs loss @Glad . That's brilliant! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

You're so right that SW 'feels like pretty normal eating but losing weight too'. That's because it is!! 🤣 I think what's happened over the years that people have got into the habit of having treats as everyday food. When I was a child, we had treats like sweets or pop perhaps at weekends but certainly not every day as happens now. SW just gives a formula for a balanced diet including limited treats.

We don't have cake sheds but I know someone who works in Costa that often gives DH freebies LO at the end of the day. I'm horrified when I see how much even a slice of cake or a teacake costs if we were to buy them.

Hope you're happy with your 0.5lbs @bubbs . I think you're doing well to eat fairly normally when you haven't got all your own things around you (like the ice cream maker😁). Do your arms feel any better now you've got the painkillers?🤔

It's infuriating hovering so close to target but not being able to lose that final couple of pounds @joedenise. I think what matters is that we're monitoring it so we don't pile the pounds back on. We'll get back there one day.😊 I love Turkish food and one thing you won't go short of is veg. I've been to Olu Deniz but it was years ago before it was developed. Now we choose a much smaller resort and although there has been a lot of development they can't touch the old town which is where we spend most of our time.

Welcome back @Suffolksue . A bit like you and @joedenise, I stopped going to group just before Christmas as consultant had stopped doing her morning class. I couldn't do the evening and none of the others in the area appealed or were at convenient times. In August I will have been at target (or thereabouts) for 15 years. As well as other advice offered I'd suggest making sure you have plenty of SW friendly food in so that if you're hungry you eat the right things. I eat 3 large meals including loads of Speed across the day. I rarely snack but if I'm hungry, like when I've had a very early dinner, I'll eat cold meat or some fruit and yogurt.

I stayed on plan yesterday with usual swips including 3 for a half Crunchie at the football.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
    L- ham (P), stir fried veg (S)
D- pork casserole with rice (P,S,F)
Swips- casserole sauce 4, weekend wine😋

thanks all, think that is probably the key

I don’t eat a lot of fish Bubbs ,( my late DH hated it ,unless it was cod in batter with chips or salmon in a tin !) ,but I do love it

Often go to our local Turkish with a variety of friends ,we all like it and usually have their hummus with pitta bread followed by grilles sea bass with rice and salad , it’s on their midweek set menu and very good value.hardly ever succumb to desserts as they are all v sweet .

Have lots of frozen chopped cooking apples ,my elderly neighbour has a lovely Bramley tree and I have the windfalls ,so will cook some for desserts with ff Greek yogurt

Will do some thinking writing and get back to you

It's always good to have a plan @Suffolksue . When I need to take myself in hand, I do a food diary and I always write a meal plan for the week ahead and the shopping list to go with it. I did this even before SW as I find it's quicker and more cost effective to shop like that. Things that need using up and what's in the freezer go on the plan first.

It might be worth making an appointment with your GP @bubbs as it'll be weeks before you get to see them. You can always cancel if the pain is gone. 🤔

    good evening

Still lots of work to be done on the staircase, all the metal spindles are in bar one, we didn’t get enough brackets so had to order 2 more.

It’s been a bright but blustery day here, so we took our 3 dogs up to see my Dad and had a walk up the hill.

B - usual overnight oats with greek yogurt and fruit, HE fibre

L - cottage cheese, lots of salad, 2 ryvita thins, 4 swips

D - SW salt and pepper chips, salmon and baked beans, HE healthy fats for the olive oil used

Milk for coffee and tea, HE calcium

I’ve just had a very small pork loin steak ,because it was so small I cooked a SW burger with it ,carrots ,broccoli and peas a small jacket potato and 30 ml left over gravy .

Felt stuffed but now peckish so will have some stewed apple and ff gk yog ,will resist ice cream

Hopefully this will keep me going all night

    7 breakfasts planned

Porridge with fruit and ff yog ,Aldi weetabix with ff yog x2 days and fruit ,poached eggs tomatoes with hopefully only one slice toast ,scrambled eggs with same ,egg and bacon x2 days

Lunches are a problem but have home made soups ,will make a crustless quiche with ham etc

Dinners I have lots of batch curries ,chilli’s and spaghetti bol in the freezer also salmon ,will try and add salad and restrict rice ,pasta and potatoes

Desserts will have to be apple based or fresh fruit

    How does that seem

Have made a shopping list ( I always do ) so will hopefully lose a bit there week

Well done on getting a plan going @Suffolksue .

Personally, I have carbs with most meals and provided I have plenty of Speed as well it works for me.

My HM chillies, curries and Bolognese are packed full of Speed (onions, tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, courgettes etc) so I don't feel the need for salad with it or you could always have some fruit and yoghurt after if you want.

Instead of bread I've been having either Aldi wholemeal baps or the Sheldon's brown baps for my HE fibre toast. They're much more substantial although you might prefer to have 3 slices of, for example, Aldi wholemeal bread. With the new plan, you can have 2 lots of HE fibre a day if you're willing to go without one of the others.
