Morning all, up early this morning to take my friend to the station to catch an early train as she's going to a funeral some distance away and taxis are so expensive here! Would have cost somewhere in the region of £40-50 and it's only about 15 miles.

It's dry again this morning but more rain forecast for after lunch. Still at least it's not quite as cold today as it has been. We're actually forecast double figures today - the first for a long time!

Is that meringue on your pudding @bubbs? What's underneath?

    Today's plan:

    B - porridge; mixed fruit - HEB; S
    L - ham & pickle sandwich - HEB; P; S; 1.5
    D - Caribbean lamb curry, rice - P; S; F

    Calcium - milk
    Fibre - oats; bread

    Swips - LF spread 1.5

    Have a good day.

PS. Forgot to weigh this morning, probably because of getting up at 5.30 this morning! so will do it tomorrow instead.

PPS Had to rejig the plan as had forgotten I'd already got the lamb out of the freezer - had originally planned a mushroom stroganoff so we'll have that tomorrow instead.

Yes Denise taxis are extortionate. I paid £50 the morning I came back from the hospital, again about 15 miles.

    Hi everyone,

Yesterday's AM work session turned into a 1.45pm finish. I stuffed in a couple of cream crackers as needed to be at Mum's for 2pm for a fire brigade safety check. Three guys arrived in a rig!! Two free smoke alarms fitted and Mum happy. We then went to get the tyre/MOT sorted which took an hour so I didn't get home until after 5pm. The electric garage doors are a disaster - one doesn't work and the other is dented. They are sending someone out on Tuesday when we will both be here with a list of snags!

Today I went to A$da to get the Easter eggs I needed and picked up some YS lamb steaks plus tiny diced swede and a few other bits including in-date FR eggs for 74p per half dozen.

DSis suggested lunch at a village cafe with Mum where I had quiche and salad then a portion of caramel apple Betty. It was delicious but now feeling like I need a big sleep. Not looking good for WI on Monday but I will just have to suck it up. However, we have no plans this weekend so I am hoping to pull things back. Dinner tonight is grilled gammon.

Good that you are looking at options for yourself and DH @TakeItEazy - I really hope you can cut back on work to have precious time with DH. Life is too short to be run-ragged but I know it's not always easy from a financial perspective xx

The meringue looked lovely @bubbs - sorry to hear about your arms. Rest up xx

    ETA - you're doing great @Glad xxx
