thanks for the welcome :)
@joedenise I do struggle with lunches, I've been trying to lose weight on my own for 6 months and in my head, a minimal lunch meant less calories, obviously didn't work so I need to sort lunches out. Hoping for ideas from you all :)
today I'm working a long day, and OH sorts dinner out, so meals will be
B - overnight oats with 0% greek yogurt, and raspberries, fibre HE
L - fat free cottage cheese, 4 ryvita thins, cherry tomatoes, carrot sticks, beetroot and apple 8 swips
D - Baked potato with beans and seriously spreadable light, a tangerine calcium HE
In betweens 250ml milk, calcium HE
blueberries
I'm loving the chilli & white wine vinegar infused fresh baby beetroot from A$da 😋

Welcome @Glad . You've made an excellent start.👍🏼
We're all Slimming World devotees on here. In my case it's the only 'diet' I've ever tried. I had just over 3 stone to lose and achieved target in just under a year and have managed to stay there or thereabouts for about 14 years . The difference between SW and other ways of losing weight is that basically it's not a diet. I think of it as a formula for eating healthily so as long as you eat balanced meals you don't have to worry much about the quantities. When I was asked at group for tips, I've always said the planning and loads of Speed food (at least a third of your food each day) is the way to go. Like @joedenise , the first thing that struck me about your menu yesterday was the lunch which was much more snacky than my own.
Obviously, being at work you have to have something portable at lunchtime and what you have will depend on the facilities available. Today's lunch looks OK but I'd want a bit more for dinner. As you don't eat meat, you need some other protein in there. My favourite is prawns with a HM Marie Rose sauce (swips only in the Lighter than Light mayonnaise) and then I'd have a big pile of salad with beetroot on the side.
Sorry if I've come across as bossy but I'm so pleased that I lost the weight with SW I just want to share it!🤣
We're lucky @Jellybaby as it's not only sunny but really warm in the sun too.
Glad to have news about @Longwalker . Sending a big hug if you're reading along.🤗
I can understand people leaving if they can't afford the price hike @bubbs. One of the reasons I stopped going to group at Christmas was that getting back to target after my holiday cost me quite a few £s and I didn't feel I was getting anything from the group that I couldn't do myself. Obviously I know the plan inside out but I do miss the web access to swip values, although cooking from scratch I don't need that many. Perhaps people will join, get the books/get to target and then go it alone. It's possible.🤔
Today I've had porridge with blueberries and banana for breakfast. We're going out for lunch and I'm hoping to choose something SW friendly. Actually it's working out well as I have to leave early to go dancing tonight so so won't need much after a main meal at lunchtime. If I'm hungry I'll have something when I get back later.

Welcome @Glad lovely to have you with us and well done on your fabulous start. I’m not attending group atm and have 8.5lb to get back into target range - it’s slow going but I am ever hopeful!!
It’s been lovely here today. I did a short 3k run then DH dropped me to the community garden where I planted mixed hedgerow. We came home for lunch and then weeded an area at the end of our driveway which now looks fab - loads of crocus that I planted are now up ❤️❤️
Whilst I was at the community garden, DH had a conversation with Ha!fords about our tyre. We found one for £72 and he said they should be retesting it for free given the govt website advice - thanks @bubbs x They’ve said they’ll match the price and retest for free - completely shocking that I felt bullied and mansplained to yesterday. Won’t be using them again.
I currently have the house to myself which never happens. DH at the theatre with his brother, DD on a date and DS2 is working.
Food has been okay today - bagel and satsumas for breakfast, JP with tuna for lunch and Pork Szechuan for dinner. Feeling stuffed!!Cross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2026 founding member 😊 Read 26 books in 2026 15/26 Currently

Morning everyone,
Well it’s dry and beginning to brighten up but still bitterly cold. Another couple of appointments today then I really need to crack on with the housework I say I’m going to do everyday 🤣🤣
Freezers and cupboard stores are coming down nicely and I’m actually quite shocked at how much I saved last month.
So breakfast is the usual cereal, fruit and yoghurt. As I’m out over lunch time I’ll take some fruit with me to tide me over and dinner is my favourite homemade meatballs in tomato sauce with spaghetti and parmesan. I might use syns for a slice of garlic bread 😋Have a good day all.

Morning all, another dry day so another machine load of washing done and out on the line. We'd actually had a severe weather warning for heavy rain from 6am today for 26 hours on the local online newspaper but it looks as though it's not going to hit us until about 5pm so at least I can get the washing dried without having to use the drier again! That'll be 2 days running and with a completely clear washing basket for a change!
Not long until our holiday now and I can check in tomorrow lunchtime so that will be out of the way and just need to make sure we've got everything we need in the toiletries bag - I think we probably need to put in toothbrushes as I know I threw the ones we took last time away before we came home.
Today's plan:
B - toast, eggs, mushrooms - fibre; P; S; 1.5
L - minced beef hash - P; S; F
D - liver, bacon, onions, mash - P; S; FCalcium - milk in drinks
Fibre - bread
Swips - LF spread 1.5Have a good day everyone.

Afternoon all 😁
Jelly i just said to dh , we don't really need to go shopping this week, need to use what's here as we go home next week 😁😁😁😁😁😁i'll just need to get egg, fruit and veg i think.
I have chicken for sweet and sour tomorrow, chicken for kfc Friday and stuff for tea Saturday, oh i might pop in home Saturday and get a joint for Sunday, might even have enough veg for dinner Sunday.
Denise, it's dry here today but bitter, we are also on a weather warning for snow! They keep saying it and we have not had any.
Where are you going on holiday?

We're going to Agadir in Morocco. Not been before but it's somewhere DH fancied trying. Originally we were supposed to be going for 2 weeks in May for his birthday but TUI cancelled the flight so we had to change that holiday and I didn't fancy 2 week in either Marrakech or Agadir - we were supposed to be doing 3 days Marrakech and 11 days Agadir so we changed that to 2 weeks in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt in an absolutely huge complex! They've got 12 restaurants to choose from so we could eat somewhere different nearly every night!
I'm doing chicken tomorrow but as a tagine - might as well get in the mindset for Moroccan food, LOL!

Snap @Jellybaby! We're having meatballs tonight too.😋😋😋 I had to make some pasta sauce earlier as we'd run out. It's the last portion of meatballs too so I'll make more at the weekend when the oven's on.
I know you're not a big lover of gravy @joedenise but do you make some when you do liver and mash or any other sauces?🤔 I'm wondering if I'd find it a bit dry without anything.
Good idea to pick up a joint from your home freezer @bubbs . It seems pointless buying one specially (especially if it's full price 😱) for Sunday if you've got some in store. You're more than half way through now . I'm sure that going home can't come quickly enough.
The rain is hopping off the ground again here. It was murky this morning but has got worse through the afternoon.
DH has just gone to pick up the car from it's MOT. It failed because it needed new brake pads and some new tyres. Although the tyre tread is fine apparently the walls are damaged from pot holes! Pot holes must be costing motorists a fortune.☹️ They've sorted the brakes today (at enormous expense) but like you @Coxy11 ,we'll get the tyres from somewhere else and take it back to be passed.
I did OK yesterday despite having lunch out. I stuck to steak, salad and a JP. Swips would have been in some vinaigrette and a small pat of butter on the potato. When I got home yesterday evening I had a chicken leg and some fruit and yogurt. I'll be happy with STS tomorrow as I know I'm probably a bit over swips for the week.
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, eggs, bacon (P), baked beans (F), HEA1 milk for drinks
L- ham (P), stir fried veg (S)
D- spaghetti with meatballs in tomato sauce (P,S,F), HEA2 Parmesan
Swips- 00
