Morning. Ooh I like Wispa, well most chocolate actually 🤣
Annoying about the MW @bubbs bet you’re counting down for moving back home x
A STS for me this week. That’s okay I guess. Still hoping to get into next stone bracket which will take 3lb. My steps were up to 67k for the week, have struggled to hit more than 20k a week since Christmas so that’s a win at least.
Car has its MOT today at lunchtime. I’m meeting DSis for a coffee then off to Food Warehouse as Olio is listing some reduced items - hoping they are still available 🤞🏻Food today:
B - spinach omelette, banana - P, S, free
L - toasted protein bagel thin, AF bacon, poached egg, apple, 2 satsumas - HEB, P, S
D - mushroom risotto - free, HEA
HEA - milk
Syns - skinny bar 3.5

Morning all, it's bright here this morning but as usual rain forecast for this afternoon. I should have checked the forecast properly yesterday and could have done the bedding today rather than yesterday. At least it would have saved on using the TD for so long. Reminder to self - check forecast for next few days when doing washing*
That's annoying about the microwave @bubbs. Do you use it much? I quite often use mine just to warm up our plates! Your yorkies always seem to rise - mine rarely do! No idea why though.
Today's plan:
B - weetabix, milk, fruit - HEA2; HEB; S; F
L - jacket potato, cottage cheese, tomatoes, pickles - P; S; F
D - Faggots, mash, veg - P; S; F; 1HEA1 & 2 - milk
HEB - weetabix
Swips - water biscuit 1 (usually use Ryvita in the faggots but didn't have any!)Hadn't planned faggots for today but picked up some pork mince YS yesterday so picked up some liver as well to make the faggots as needed to be used so decided on faggots so will get another meal into the freezer. Cooked at the bottom of the oven. while the dinner was cooking.
Got liver over so we'll have that in a couple of days time with some bacon & onions.
Have a good day everyone.

Afternoon all 😁
No i don't use the microwave much, i had been using it for singing swede which i couldn't have as couldn't warm it up (now in fridge!)and for dh's marrowfat peas usually which were ok as i stuck them in a pan.
I messaged him this morning and said i didn't want to disturb him on a Sunday but went to use the microwave and it's lighting up and going round but not getting hot , he said oh i am so sorry i will get a new one and replace it 😁
Just make sure the muffin tray is really hot Denise, that's what i do.
Was lovely here this morning and then lashed it down! Sun is out now but it's sooooo cold!
Lunch i had picky plate and 2 sv for crackers. 1/4 hexa and picky plate.
Tea i am having lasagne i brought from the freezer yesterday and salad
Later i am either having pancakes or apple pie (made with wrap) not decided yet!

Wow that's an impressive step count @Coxy11 . Well done! STS isn't what we want but just keep plodding, we'll get there eventually. 🤗
The way the weather's been @joedenise , even looking at the forecast isn't always the answer. Sometimes it says it'll rain all day and then it doesn't.☹️ It's dry but with a really cold wind here today. I used the TD yesterday as I was fed up with wet laundry after last week. I picked up the towels and bedding from the laundrette today. It cost just short of £70 but that was cheap compared with the cost of even the excess if we'd gone though insurance.
Apple pie sound just about right on such a cold day @bubbs. 😋
I'd really miss my microwave. DH uses it for porridge and milk for the coffee for football. I always soften onions in it before frying, heat up peas, reheat the braised red cabbage and, like @joedenise , I warm plates in it if the oven isn't on. Very occasionally I'll defrost meat in it if I've forgotten to take it out of the freezer in time.
I picked up some YS liver on Friday @joedenise so liver and bacon will show up on our menu soon. I think liver must be the only meat that hasn't skyrocketed in price although I suppose it's all relative.
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- LO cold meat, veg and pickles (P,S,F)
D- cold chicken (P), SW chips (F), stir fried veg (S)
Swips- 00 -
I haven’t had liver for a long time. Mmmmmm might have to get some.
January spends - £587.580 -
A lot of people won't eat liver though which is probably why it's still cheap(er) than other meats. Another thing I think is reasonably priced is pork fillet - it seems to be much cheaper than it used to be - relatively speaking. Picked up a piece YS the other and put that in the freezer. Just need to decide what to do with it!

You're probably right @joedenise that many people don't like liver but I've seen it lately on restaurant menus usually served as a 'classic' with mash, onions, onion gravy and some greens.
I've never had pork fillet so let us know when you find a recipe.
DD2 is visiting tomorrow and we're going out for lunch. DH thought it would be helpful for me. 🤔 🥰

0.2lb gain for me this morning. It’s only really a big wee and if it had been the same amount as a loss I’d have been really happy. As it stands I’m not. Ah well, keep trying
Well done to everyone on their losses and STS
Left over chicken and salad for tea tonight and a packet of med veg couscous on the side. - will be swips - shared between the two of us.

Oh my days that’s a lot!! Is the online price changing too I wonder?
Car failed its MOT on a tyre. They couldn’t find one to fit today so have asked us to go back tomorrow (MOT runs out Wednesday). They want £100 for the tyre and free retest. If we get our own tyre they will charge £27.50 to retest. DH thinks this is wrong so will challenge this tomorrow.
Made mushroom risotto for tea. DD and DS2 no longer enjoy it and were picking. Think I need to drop it from our meal plan.Cross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2026 founding member 😊 Read 26 books in 2026 15/26 Currently
