Morning all, weather back to normal today - wet and windy!

I can only dream of getting anywhere near bottom end too @maman! Can't even seem to get back to top end never mind bottom end!!!

Forgot to buy some food I need before my normal shopping day so need to pop to Tesco so will buy everything that's on my list rather than going again on Tuesday. We're thinking we might go to the garden centre to get our free hot drink - we didn't make it in January so missed out on that one! Whilst there will pop into the big Tesco there to buy my tonics as my local store doesn't stock their own brand any more which is annoying to say the least! I usually buy 3 dozen cans at a time to last a while!

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up with sausages - P; S; F; 2
    L - bacon & mushroom sandwich - HEB; P; S; 1.5
    D - duck breast, roast potatoes, roasted veg, green veg - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Swips - sausages 2; LF spread 1.5

    Have a good day everyone.

Happy Sunday everyone. Can’t believe the difference a day makes. From beautiful (and warm when it was on your back) to a snowy winter wonderland. It’s drizzling nowrhoughsoit won’t last long.

I’m clearing out my craft room today. A job I’ve been putting on the back burner for ages. We’ve used it as a dumping ground and now if I want to do anything, I can’t get in to find what I need - and I want my sewing machine to hem a pair of cotton/linen blend trousers for my holiday in 2 weeks. I bought the last year but they were a tad long and they went away twice but came back unworn as I didn’t want to wear heels. Lesson learnt - just shorten the blummin’ things!

We are having a roast chicken dinner tonight, got new pots, cauli, cabbage and carrots to go alongside, Hubby wants cheese sauce so I shall make a big batch and also make lasagne for later in the week whilst the oven is on.

2 more weigh ins until we go and I’m not sure that I will be at the bottom of my range which was my plan at the start of the year. We all seem to be pretty static at the moment don’t we. Just have to keep doing what we can. I’m braced for a massively out of target weigh in on our return but it’s so hard battling to get back in when you get home. It really was so much easier losing it than keeping it off. Anyhoo, keep plodding on.

Right, off to get cracking. Catch up later.

Morning everyone, I have sleet here and apparently it’s on all day - and nearly all week. It’s so depressing.

Not had a chance to read back yet so hope everyone is well.

No shopping today 🥳 I took my parents and aunt together last week - none of them were happy 🙄 - but patiently explained it’s the only way I can cope if no other help is available, especially from other family members.

I’ve had my usual cereal, fruit and yoghurt for breakfast and dinner is Stornoway chicken (chicken stuffed with black pudding, wrapped in bacon), peppercorn sauce, roast potatoes, roasted carrots, onions and Brussels sprouts. I’m counting 3 syns for my share of black pudding and 2 for a couple tablespoons of peppercorn sauce.

I think the horrible weather must be everywhere today although it's just heavy rain here no sleet.🫰🏻

Well done on cutting down the shopping trips @Jellybaby. I think you're right to stand your ground.👍🏼 We're having roast chicken today too, seems a popular choice. I stuff mine with rosemary and red onion sausages but the black pudding and bacon sounds delicious.😋

At least you're close to the bottom of target @Matron_Midge, a good place to be before a holiday. Hope you get your craft room sorted so that you can shorten the trousers. When we go on our sunshine holiday in June, I smile to myself when I see new people tottering about in heels. The old town has steep, cobbled streets so flats are the order of the day. I like loose, floaty dresses which are very forgiving for the inevitable extra swips.😁

Good idea to get your shopping done today @joedenise although I find if I change the day it throws me out somehow. I've probably asked this before but how do you cook your duck breasts? DH loves duck and I've got a pack in the freezer but not confident that I know how to cook it properly.

Thanks so much for the chicken and mushroom pasta recipe @Coxy11 . We had it last night and it was a big success. DH and I both loved it and we'll definitely be having it again.😋

I've portioned up the savoury mince I made yesterday. It made 4 meals for the freezer (8 portions) and a small one left for me to have for lunch.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S), HEA milk for drinks
    L- JP (F), savoury mince (P,S), salad bits (S)
D- roast chicken (P), SW roast potatoes (F), loads of veg (S)
    Swips- gravy 4, weekend wine😁

    Hi all,

    Well done @bubbs x

I’m nowhere near target so I won’t be in the bottom end anytime soon!! I have lost 3lb since the start of the year with a mix of losses and STS and one gain. 0.5lb a week then which is my usual pace. Not sure what tomorrows WI will bring - I’ve upped my steps again this week so we’ll see.

I’ve been to yoga and taken mum shopping. Roads hereabouts are flooded so I’m now in for the day and we will watch the rugby.

Dinner tonight is mushroom risotto. Glad you enjoyed the tagliatelle @maman. We had her lasagne recipe last night. Is it just me that finds that seriously spreadable cheese really salty? Lasagne was nice for a cheat meal - would usually do Delia’s one but a lot of time and faff (and would need to handle chicken livers 🤮)

Hats off to you @Jellybaby I find taking my mum shopping quite enough plus it’s only fortnightly!

@maman - the duck breast we've got today is actually ready sliced breast so basically just needs reheating in the oven! Bit of a cheat really - not had it before so no idea what it's like but looking at the picture on the packet it looks as though it's just the lean meat, if it isn't I won't be eating the skin 😇.

When I go the fresh duck breast from the butchers I just cook them in a pan which can go on the hob and in the oven. Start off in a cold pan and cook skin side down until the fat renders down; pour off as much of the fat as possible and then turn over onto the flesh side and pop into the oven for about 8-15 minutes depending on how pink you like it (I do about 8 minutes as we like it pink but not bloody!).

Can't say I've noticed the Seriously Strong spreadable particularly salty @Coxy11 but probably depends on how much you use - I tend to have a small amount on a water biscuit as a snack occasionally.

Well done on those of you who take your parents shopping - no way would I have been able to cope with shopping with my mum!
