I was on diclofenac (sp) for years and it caused me to be bunged up and that’s when I had a perforated bowel and ended up with my first stoma which was reversed. I ended up taking napraxen again long term and I had another perforated bowel in 2020 and another stoma which is permanent this time. I’ve since been advised not to take any anti-inflammatory drugs. I suspect i have a very slow transit so who knows if the drugs caused it. One doc said it’s highly likely they contributed - but nobody would say one way or the other. I do occasionally take a couple of ibobrufen (or equivalent) but only very occasionally. I did take some after I did my elbow the other week.

Food today has been mostly ok.
brunch - omelette with spring onion, tomato, spinach, peas, pepper and 1/2 hea cheese. Baked beans and 1 slice heb toast. 2 syns for butter.

Tea - rice, peas, peppers, mushrooms, spring onion and chicken with soy sauce and splash of sesame oil - approx 2 syns

Then I was driven to chocolate by stupid buyers solicitor asking repeated questions about a chimney that doesn’t exist and hasn’t for the 40 years we have lived in the house. We must have told him we have no knowledge of said chimney at least 6 times in various ways 🤬🤬🤬I can see the house falling through at this rate and we’re supposed to be moving in 3 weeks.

Aldi racer bar….guessing about 8 syns.

Unfortunately constipation is a side effect of any painkiller and anti inflammatory. The painkillers I've got are opiate based and not as bad in that respect but can only take them for 3 days, after that it's got to be ibuprofen and paracetamol so not likely to work as well but needs must and hope they don't bung me up!

Oh no Beanie, i have been today so that's good.

    Milann not good 😢

Denise my tramadol are opiate based , he said say they were addictive long term, but was not advised only for 3 days and he has given me a repeat. Ibuprofen have never bunged me up, but taking them and paracetamol the pain in my shoulder/arm is so bad i can hardly use it 😢 not good when it's my dominant arm.

Be glad when MRI comes through

Morning all, a lovely bright day with a bit of breeze and a pleasant temperature, about 26 at the moment.

Clothes are packed into the motorhome ready for our break next week. Just the food to put into the fridge/freezer although we'll probably eat out most days but at least our main meals will be on plan!

    Today's plan:

    B - weetabix, milk - fibre, calcium
    L - sweet chilli noodles - S; F; 4.5
    D - pasta, creamy tomato sauce - S; F; 6

    Fibre - weetabix
    Calcium x 2 - milk
Swips - sweet chilli sauce 4.5; mozzarella 6

Have a good day every one.

Hope all the poorlies are feeling better today or at least coping. It seems that a lot of medications are sabotaging your efforts but needs must.🤗

It's cooler here today, feels much fresher.

Good idea to eat out most of the time when you're away @joedenise . I know you often don't but coping with your thumb and limited facilities makes it a far better option. 👍🏼 (apologies for thumb emoji 🤣)

I'm just about to do my meal plan for the coming week before I shop later. I know we're eating out next Thursday but can often get good choices at this venue.

Tomorrow I'm driving to Wales to meet up with family. It's a bring your own food picnic so will take my own salad to have along with birthday cake. It'll mean an early start so I'm thinking probably no wine this evening.😲

    Today's plan-
B- porridge (fibre), blueberries (S), banana (F), milk (calcium)
L- pasta salad with ham (P,F,S)
D- chunky chilli and rice (P,S,F), cottage cheese (P)
    Swips- tbc🤔

@maman I never think to ask for diet lemonade, how odd, as I always ask for slimline tonic with gin

My bug seemed to be a 48 hr thing so I was in work tuesday

weigh day tomorrow and saturday is usually treat evening, OH already chosen dirty gnocchi and malteasers, but my friend has just asked me to a Nashville night in Chester Cathedral tomorrow evening, he said 'that's ok we can do it sunday' but that would mean 2 cheat days!

I sympathise with all the bowel problems, I have been mildly constipated most of my life, but now that I am on amitriptyline, 8 of the stronger co-codamol a day and 6 ibuprofen a day it is a constant battle 😒

    Hi everyone,

We walked from Aysgarth to Hawes yesterday (12.5miles) then I drove us home. Got home around 11pm. Totally whacked but glad we did the walking although if I never have to squeeze through a dry stone wall stile again it’ll be too soon. Some of them expected you to be built like Kate Moss.

I tracked my food whilst away, even the McDs at the services en route back - did a food diary and handed it in at group today. I got a 2.5lb loss and SOW 🙌🏻 Have never had SOW before.

The meal plan DH wrote on Sunday says ‘OUT’ for tonight as both adult kids are away tonight. Will see what he means when he gets in from work. Talking of work - they don’t need me again next week…..

Sorry for all those suffering with not going - I get like that sometimes and concur with @joedenise that the urge always comes on when there’s nowhere to go - like on a long distance hill walk!!

Annoying about the solicitor @milann 🙁Racer bar is 9.5 SWIPs x

Have a great time away @joedenise and hope your hand is healing well x

Enjoy Wales @maman is it your birthday? X

    Food today:

B - apple and hifi at group - S, fibre

L - Princes mackerel in spicy tomato sauce, spinach leaves, 3 babybel light - free, S, calcium

    D - ??

    Calcium - milk

Have a lovely time away @joedenise and visiting family @maman

@bubbs Ducolax tablets work for me. It’s been a problem since I was pregnant so 34 years now 😳 and nothing else, either prescribed or over the counter, works. I try to take only once a week.

Finally mother is home, tired, weak and probably further issues in the future but I’m not thinking about that for now. I’ve only had the odd meal on plan so expecting at least 3 or 4 gain tomorrow.

I’m craving fresh veggies so it’s steak and a huge salad for dinner tonight. I might also make up a bowl of potato salad.
