But I won't unless I eat first - have plenty of health food in the fridge but no hunger so really shouldn't be necking Baileys either. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.5 -
This evening I've started re-listening to Murder under the Mistletoe by Rev Richard Coles. He narrates it himself and it's a great listen. Not horrid or gory but witty and very well observed. I listened to it last Advent too. We've also opened our fancy hot chocolate that we bought on a trip away in the Autumn, and! Just in the nick of time the candle advent calendar has arrived 🥳
I'm feeling blissfully cosy on this dark, cold, rainy evening.

Sat here with a lovely purple sugar plum pudding candle burning.
Dropped 2 unwanted (new - were a gift) Xmas ornaments to the CS on the way home.
Off to choose tomorrow's outfit for work and may choose a not-often worn piece of jewellery 📿💍 to go with it for tomorrow's advent

I couldn't decide what to do for my first day. I was going to have something nice to eat/drink this evening but feel a bit sick. As it's late now I decided to donate to my very local dog rescue.Debts 04/01/25 01/12/25

I put some new batteries in the fireplace fairy lights for some added cheerfulness.I also played Cant Stop the Cavalry suitably loudly, my favourite festive song , and then casually put myself out on Whamageddon. My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. I tied my hair up with a Christmas scrunchie. Also put up the trees at home. My 10yr old son wanted the slim one from the hall in his bedroom - it was lovely seeing him like a big kid rather than the pre teen he has turned into! X9

My 'resolutions' above: I was all enthusiastic and threw myself into it today, with a day mostly to myself and brewing a cold, but not a bad one, it was that or waste time on the computer.Cherryfudge said:I'm not much of a jewellery person but I have a drawer of forgotten toiletries so I will try to use one of these each day and in addition use something from food stores (pumpkins, I'm looking at you). Additional, but not daily things will be selling or donating items (giving us space and others joy) and buying or wrapping gifts before it's the last minute. Might even write a card or two, but I'm not too optimistic about that.
I'm using the Fenjal spray again: I like it and I reckon I'm allowed to wear it twice in succession as long as it came out of the forgotten things drawer in the first place. Nothing sold or wrapped but I got out the Christmas mugs, scrunchies, tea towels and socks, and set aside one of the mugs to donate.
The big success was lots of time spent cooking, so the dried mixed fruit is finished, some eggs had to be thrown out and I've used all but three from the other box, some bread got used up in the bread pudding and some battered little foraged apples, chopped very small, went in there too. I need to remember how well they went for another time. This all means a few days of eating up, so I will struggle to use up more foodstuffs for a few days.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I am making fudge this morning, a double batch with honey, ready for the Christmas Fayre I have a table at on Saturday. I have also liberated a pair of earrings to wear today, that are definitely in the special, if not festive category. And finally, we don't do the big tubs of chocolates but I did buy some red lindor balls and they have been raided - one each last night. Such a treat!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £10,020.92 out of £6000 after September

Yesterday was a hectic day, but DH put up some of our window Christmas lights so that was a nice treat to come home to in the rain and darkness.
My sparkly top I'd ordered for Christmas also arrived.
Today I will get the tree put together so the kids can decorate it tonight. We will also have 2 advent chocolates as we forgot yesterday!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee10
