I just bought some flowers at a local florist in the way home from my class. I looked for a poinsettia and couldn’t find one and then tried a different florist, but she said the weather was too cold to have them in the shop. I’m about to have a warm drink in my “tis the season” mug.🧑🎄

No, I bought it at a local handmade market the other day. I did make one at a workshop, but it isn’t as nice as that one.😀Makingabobor2 said:

Also loving this thread and reading about all the small things that are making everyone smile this month!
It was a squirt of perfume for me today - the end of a bottle of one that I love, but have shied away from using because I don't want it to be finished...which is a bit daft! I've thoroughly appreciated getting a waft of it here and there through the day - and of course my scarf will smell of it for a few days yet, too!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Today I wore a hot pink jumper that I haven't worn in years (mainly because I grew out of it! 🤣) and teamed it with hot pink socks that you could see a flash of between the ankle-grazer trousers and short boots that I was also wearing. I also wore a silver bracelet that I haven't worn in maybe 10 years? I've decided I don't like it enough to keep it, so I'll see if DD wants it - if not, I'll put it on V1nted. I changed my earrings from small gold/ diamond hoops to large chunky solid silver ones too, to match 😀

I love the variety and inventiveness of the ideas here. I have stocked up a few ideas for future days, thank you. So far for me: Day 1 I wrapped some presents to Christmas music and then had a lovely online group relaxation session. Day 2: I went to my first Christmas lunch today in a local community centre which was followed by a brass band playing carols and a sing along. Day 3 - I will be going to a wreath making workshop at a local community garden. All activities so far have been free.6

A small tax refund arrived which meant I had the funds to sort some presents without dipping into my savings. That meant I actually made a start on my present buying, possibly the latest I've started in many years.
A tiny spray of the expensive smell that makes me smile because of the associated memories.
I am also about to to do my nails, going for a little bit of a sparkle rather than my usual neutrals. My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

I had to look this one up - how well he's captured that snow-laden December sky!PennysIntoPounds said:

It looks as though I am accidentally adopting a 'December perfume' too. I've got a cold, meaning there's no point trying new scents so the Fenjal is still being used. Even if I can't smell it properly, at least I know DH likes it!
Here's my list again: "I'm not much of a jewellery person but I have a drawer of forgotten toiletries so I will try to use one of these each day and in addition use something from food stores (pumpkins, I'm looking at you). Additional, but not daily things will be selling or donating items (giving us space and others joy) and buying or wrapping gifts before it's the last minute. Might even write a card or two, but I'm not too optimistic about that."
Tuesdays are always busy for us so not a lot of progress has been made, but I remembered to take a batch of yesterday's soup to DDiL, which frees some freezer space. DH and I had more of yesterday's curry and this time I found the mango chutney to have with it. I also had mine with the last of the frozen mash (more freezer space) and got more berries out and defrosting for breakfast tomorrow. I even remembered to tell DH they are there, so he will have his share.
Some gifts I ordered yesterday have arrived so I need to check those. Tomorrow was going to be a family tradition, mine and my daughter's Christmas shopping day (more about staying out, eating out and window shopping than actually buying everything) but I've asked her if we can rearrange. No point in giving her and the baby my germs and snuffling miserably through it myself. I will try to sort through the shopping I've already done, instead, and ask DH to get the wrapping paper out of the loft.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
