A Very MSE Advent 2025

I'm feeling poorly so I dug out my aroma mist diffuser with help from lovely OH and got it going with some peppermint oil. I am just sofa loafing but it smells nice.7

Feeling very lurgified so fairly unambitious today:
- Mr KK started the new advent calendar this morning which made him smile - a dove 🕊️
- Was nice to the younglings from the front office who were putting up the work Christmas tree in reception - everyone else was grinching at them
Gratitudes:
- having a lap top so don’t even have to attempt to try to go into work tomorrow
- My boss taking one look at at me / listen to me and told me to go home
- Mr KK being so patient and kind about my lunch dishes and the lack of chores I haven’t done
- hot water bottles!

I'm pacing myself at the start of Advent although I really want to put on all my sparkly jewellery, festive jumpers, light all the candles, use all the tea towels - you get the picture!
our Christmas lights are mostly up in the front windows and we have a mini Christmas tree in the lounge. It's a gingerbread scented candle tonight. I could grumble that my yank ee candle advent calendar hasn't arrived yet but this is a sparkly joyful thread so the gingerbread tea light that was lurking in the back of the candle stash will shine brightly tonight.8 -
Can I join in please? Tonight I'll light one of my Christmas-scented candles (orange and cinnamon).Grocery challenge 2025: £1339/1500 annual budget7

As well as getting the nice candle in place, I dug out a soft scarf with sparkles to wear to work, and on the way back bought a bottle of Baileys 😊
Will try to stock up for Christmas season while the £11 deals are still on, think its till the 3rd at Sainsburys and the 8th at Tescos5 -
Thanks @Makingabobor2, I am patheto-girl today so totally sympathise. Self care is big and clever. I am going to try and find a daft movie to watch and take my mind off things. The peppermint aroma diffuser is still going and it lights up different colours so that's been fun.6

Thank you @Makingabobor2 hope you feel better soon too x
@Wanna_Bee_Free, I now have light up diffuser envy! 😂❤️

I forgot one! Mr KK got up all the Christmas lights that we use outside - just little LED ones, threaded through bushes and trellis etc. It’s really cheery and I know the village like it 😊❤️
A defence against the dark 🤩

Just popping by to say that I paint the reverse and post of earrings such as these with clear nail polish, the coating stops any irritation.EssexHebridean said:Today I am wearing a pair of little silver engraved heart earrings - they irritate my ears if I wear them for more than a day here and there but I still love them! I've also brought a set of lights and a ludicrous tinsel sausage dog into the office - the dog is on the windowsill behind me and the lights are there too currently but will probably end up round my computer monitor.
Enjoying this thread very much, I love reading about all your little seasonal joys. 🎄9
