A Very MSE Advent 2025

I'm full of non-festive cold today so I haven't made much progress, though I do enjoy reading what everyone is doing here. @KajiKita, those oak leaves against the clear sky are beautiful.
I did remember to do my Advent Resolutions - some peppers and pomegranate seeds have been defrosted for use and I found another body spray to use. I can't smell it but DH says he likes it. It's Rose and Grapefruit - I offered to let him borrow it but he said it was 'girly'!
Parcels are opened apart from a couple which DH is giving me for Christmas! That's main presents for two of the grand daughters, and DH's Secret Santa. My Secret Santa and DGD3 are still to resolve.
I also remembered to look up an Advent meditation that our Church is doing - I've only read the first bit so I'm behind already but at least I've started.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Did my yoga before work this morning with a candle lit, a lovely calming way to start the day 😊😊
Wore my pompom earrings and a long neglected purple necklace (if I wear that again it needs to be with a higher-necked top, it was just the wrong length for what I was wearing today and kept disappearing down my cleavage 🤭😂)
Not sure what tomorrow's jewellery is yet!
Took a birthday present to my friend's daughter, and also a pack of paper chains for them to do (not today though, it was bit hectic with many visitors!). They'd put up their tree which was cheerful 😊
Went to a group meeting tonight, something I used to go to very regularly but haven't been to for ages. So lovely to see some old familiar faces 🥰
Mr C and I have arranged to get up super early to go for a cuppa together on my way to work 😊 So if I want to do my morning yoga I'll need to be up even earlier!7 -
I joined my old team for their Christmas celebrations yesterday, secret santa and a Christmas themed quiz in the office to which I wore a Christmas jumper with sequinned bow on the front. Then changed into a white sequinned top to go out for a few drinks, found in the wardrobe with the price tag on from last year.
Working from home today so will be comfortable clothes but will use perfume and moisturiser on my feet to finish the pot.4 -
I am loving this thread so much! 🥰🥰🥰 It's really caught my mood this year, and is really making me slow down and notice and do small cheerful things, and is stopping me from feeling quite so overwhelmed. Thank you all 🥰
Like someone else said, every time I see someone out in sparkly earrings or a Christmas jumper now, I wonder if it's one of you 😂 Wouldn't it be funny if we were walking past each other all the time and didn't realise?? 😂
Today I've gotten up early for the third day in a row and done a yoga video before leaving for work (I did Monday's session in the evening). So proud of myself! I'm usually awake this early, end up scrolling on my phone and then rushing around. But not this week! I've made it cosy - candle lit, little lamp, nice blanket on the floor - and I look forward to it, it's a nice transition between bed and the day 😊 It's funny, when I thought about doing this for a month, I really thought I'd be squeezing it in before bed, not actively getting up early to do it!
Ooh, just realised I've not picked today's mystery jewellery yet! Should really have done it last night as I've already selected today's outfit... 😂6 -
I'm off on a little overnight adventure today and will try not to accidentally say hello to any random people in Christmas jumpers and sparkly earrings.I have used the glitter polish so a subtle sparkle to my fingers. Big city visit so I am sure there will be festive lights. My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

I've donated the other half of my heating allowance to Crisis at Christmas this morning (Sally Army yesterday) so I'm feeling a bit too self-satisfied. I have to collect fruit, veg and a big sack of potatoes for the big Christmas lunch tomorrow (in Barefoot Contessa style, some bought, some made). I'm going to make some beeswax candles later. They burn true and pure and smell fantasticSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £10,020.92 out of £6000 after September

Here are yesterday's & today's festive ornament. I'm trying hard, but still can't get my mojo back since I started the cold.

It's my work Christmas do this evening so I will be wearing the glittery nail varnish, wearing the nice perfume, wearing the sparkly jewellery, and all the other stuff that goes with it. I haven't been on a Christmas do for a few years and am looking forward to it slightly more than usual as this company pay for food, three drinks (plenty for me) and a hotel room. The stress of the expense has been taken away and I've managed to put together a decent outfit from things I already have.Debts 04/01/25 01/12/25
