For further sentimental connection I wore my mum's pearls today. My mum loved a family get together.
Definitely a bit of December hayfever, definitely5 -
That’s so amazing. 🤩Blackcats said:My Advent joy today was more of a mini miracle because I managed to co-ordinate my dad and his brother (aged 98 and 90 respectively) to get together for a birthday tea party. My dad is house bound and my uncle is in the last few weeks of his life, but his amazing care home sorted out transport and a carer to bring him to dad's. The brothers chatted, had a sing song and a hug probably for the last time. Thank you to care homes that care, carers that go above and beyond and taxi drivers with adapted vehicles and oodles of patience and kindness.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Oh @Blackcats that's definitely an achievement. What a lovely thing to have done for then, it must have been very special for them both. Well done you xx
Three cheerful seasonal/festive things i noticed on my travels today. An enormous flock of fieldfare was swirling round the fields on my way to work, and then I spotted two deer up on a hill 😊 I do sometimes see deer on the way to work, but it's always special when they're quite close 😊 Then on the way home, I saw a woman wearing the most glittery gold trousers I've ever seen 😂😂 they were SO fabulous, I almost pulled the car over to tell her how great they were 😂😂
I would have noticed those things without this thread of course, but I probably wouldn't have stored them away and remembered them as Cheerful Things 😊
Tonight I've had a lovely bath with some lavender oil, and am just settling on the sofa with Mr C and a hot chocolate 🥰7 -

That is a MSE find! Wreath-making classes locally start at £15. I updated mine with an understated chazzer find, at £1 I was happy to hang it on my front door!Prudent said:I love the variety and inventiveness of the ideas here. I have stocked up a few ideas for future days, thank you. So far for me: Day 1 I wrapped some presents to Christmas music and then had a lovely online group relaxation session. Day 2: I went to my first Christmas lunch today in a local community centre which was followed by a brass band playing carols and a sing along. Day 3 - I will be going to a wreath making workshop at a local community garden. All activities so far have been free.
@Wednesday2000 - mine is (artificial) poinsettia.

@Blackcats, that's wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
Pass the tissues...
I'm still a bit under par though a lot better than yesterday so I've taken the opportunity to rest. Advent stuff has been about wearing my favourite Christmas socks and Christmas knickers too, using the rose and grapefruit body spray again, defrosting a bit more fruit and filling the space it used to occupy with some avocado.
This evening I felt much better so I got out my Dad's Christmas carol music (it's the easiest I have!) and played a few of them on the piano. Definitely seasonal. Oh, and started to re-read one of my favourite Christmas books.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I am wearing a black opal ring with opal earrings today. I very rarely wear a ring so it is nice to see it on my hand as I do things 😊
