Here are the details below of the savings challenge @enthusiasticsaver and I have been running this year and will continue to run next year.
This is the new Challenge thread for savers in 2026. The aim is to get more people saving throughout the year and this thread gives a space for people to record and track their progress. Here you are with kindred spirits and we are friendly and supportive.
Do feel free to say how you save. It is your call what you include. We all save in different ways and lots of us use Regular Savers so here is a link to the first page of the Top Regular Savers Discussion Thread that @Bridlington1 runs
The challenge starts on 1 January 2026 and finishes on 31 December 2026 (although we continue to update into January with the December totals). You can save £12k or any other amount you decide to set as a target. You can change your target at anytime.
Please post on this thread if you want to join in for 2026 with your target amount and we will allocate numbers in the New Year which you should quote when posting. Most people update monthly but feel free to update more frequently if you wish.
Here is a link to the 2025 spreadsheet so you can check it out, and I will change this to the 2026 spreadsheet once we are up and running so you can check on progress through the year.
Save £12k in 2025 Challenge - spreadsheet
I recommend you tag the thread with the little pennant (normally top right) then you can always find us via Quick Links and Bookmarks, and also include your challenge number in your signature and/or post each time, so we can find you quickly to update the spreadsheet
Savers who go missing without updating will be deleted from the challenge. The rejoiners get the lower numbers, and some already know where they are!

Yes please, count me in again. I understand that I’m able to become #6 for this challenge year of 2026.
I would like to set my savings goal as £12,000 again please.
P.S. @Suffolk_lass I think the end date of the challenge, in your post above, needs to be rectified to read 2026 not 2025!
Thanks

I have the dubious honour of being the first to sign up for 2026 and I am going to challenge myself with £12k at #1 if possible or #2 if you would like #1 for yourself.
I have two big trips next year. One is a trip to China and one is a Danube cruise although I will be using 2025 savings to pay for these. Yes please! It's such a motivating thread, this will be my third year. Thanks for running it again

I will stick with £12k I think. £15k might be a little too ambitious#39 - Save £12k in 20250 -
This is so exciting!!
I'll set my target at £12k for this year please. I'm moving house (hopefully) so it's all a bit up in the air, but that's what I will aim for
Thanks so much for doing this, it really helps me focus and stick to my goals
