Also I get no mobile signal in our local PO so technology wise I might struggle
When you go to theGet prepaid label
page you don't see a buyer name to check whether it matches the name on the account (many of mine don't) but you do see the postcode, which is all that matters.
However when you then click on create label you see the full name and address and a tracking number before you even choose whether to print the label or get the QR code..
When you open the QR code though there is nothing on it to identify the buyer at all, no name or postcode, just the QR code. I only get Evri sales, so don't know if it is the same for RM. This would mean when selling multiple items, add the postcode to the package and when you go to the Evri shop, open each sale and check the postcode before using the QR code.
This does however mean that the way my PO suggest doing it by screenshotting or downloading all the QR codes (due to no internet or mobile phone signal) won't work
1. The user journey for individual orders or print postage is different to bulk orders page. One has the QR code as an option and the other does or did not.2. Taking a photo of the QR code does work. I have used this myself.
3. Email confirmation includes not QR code and photo of sold item. This is the case with both RM and Hermes.0 -

something has happened today, when viewing the active listings page on my PC it shows which listings have SD applied to them, it didn't used to do this1

Our post office said today that a lot of post offices have had problems with the wrong postage being calculated on the parcels and that they were refusing them. Our post office is the absolute best most friendly post office so it must be bad if they are having problems.0

A couple of questions spring to mind that may be of general interest that I haven't seen addressed yet. With the new system:
Is it still possible to arrange a day/time for Royal Mail collect and bring a label?
Do all post offices enable an eBay Royal Mail label to be printed?
I ask as ISTR that not all post offices offer the option of printing labels bought directly through the RM website, often only RM customer service point is guaranteed, which can bring its own issues.

Something I've dealt with when returning parcels for years now, When returning something faulty or damaged I get a label thats undersized, and then I get warned at the post office that its the wrong label and they will probably get charged at the other end and I reply "good, send it anyway! I'm not bothered if they get charged0 -
A couple of questions as I've just had my first sale using eBay's simple deliver, considering it was my only option when listing.
1. I have opted out of Evri and use only Royal Mail. What does the buyer see? Will they see options for Tracked24 and Tracked48 etc, or do they just see the one RM option?
2. Just printed off my first simple delivery label. Unfortunately it's Tracked48 (I always preferred Tracked24). However the item price was £220. If I understand correctly, if it's lost during transit eBay will cover the full value and I claim via them instead of RM?
Just a bit concerned as Tracked48 has always taken absolutely ages for me, whereas Tracked24 is always next day. With the sale price of the item I would have gone with RMSD if I were purchasing the label TBH.0 -
soolin said:Yes collection should be possible as you get a tracking code at point of sale which can be used on the RM site. However, whether or not they can bring a label I’m not sure, there is conflicting reports on the various forums. Next time I get an RM parcel via eBay SD I’ll check, but none of my buyers appear to be opting for RM at all due to the cost, so it may be some time. There is nothing I can see that says a PO must have a label printing facility ,it might be worth waiting to see if other users here have had any difficulty .
It's beginning to sound like eBay has effectively removed options that sellers (people they generate money from) had before eBay decided to monopolise the delivery process. How big a deal that is will be down to an individual's circumstances and the services in their area but it doesn't feel like a step in the right direction. It's not even clear whether it's entirely a deliberate change or a failure to consider details. Obviously the increased costs were given more careful attention0
