going forward lets think of the positives,
    • a lot of my items were listed at £3.69 RM 2nd class Parcel, now it's telling me that the buyer will pay only £2.84
    • I'm not going to have to print and stick on lables anymore, just go to the PO and show my QR code
    • Not going to have to keep records and proof of postage receipts
    • Don't have to deal with postage claims
Just one thing, the lower postage quoted the 'from' is Evri- but it's just like the RM labels in that you can use the QR code and don't have to print a label.

Locally for me the benefit is also that I have more than one place that takes Evri , a shop and several local Tesco Expresses, and i'm in and out in a minute or two compared to a 20-30 minute wait in the PO.

Has anyone tried these QR codes with a 'difficult' Post Office?

That concerns me, as the local has a habit of rejecting anything prepaid.
Yep. I prefer to take QR code and print the label at the post office. Not only do they print the label, but they give you a receipt as proof of postage which you may need if it gets lost to make a claim.

Once my email was not working so you can download the QR code and do it that way.

One thing is to make sure the QR code option when you pay for postage. For some reason this does not appear from the bulk orders page. I have reported to ebay but they say there is no issue.

I'm slightly concerned how I'm going to match up QR codes to the right parcels once SD is rolled out fully. This weekend I have 18 items finishing, I guess it's putting the postcode on each parcel then matching up the label at the PO??
Also I get no mobile signal in our local PO so technology wise I might struggle

Not sure you'll get a postcode if you're not printing the label yourself.
What I have done when I have two parcels to post is whatsapp the qr code to my oh with a caption like black bag or square box.
Would be a bit trickier with a load of identical envelopes though...

I don't find any of my local post offices difficult.

You do get a name though so maybe I'll try that as and when the time comes.

Strange you mention the mobile signal, I have the exact same issue. (Perhaps it is the same branch?)

There is no mobile signal at all and no wi fi, once you approach the back of the shop (WH Smith) mobiles become unusable. I recently had some equipment to return to Virgin, they only sent me a QR code which of course I couldn’t access at the PO counter. The staff are well used to it, and tell you to go to top of escalator , get a signal, get the QR code on your screen and then go back to counter….just about doable for one item, impossible for more than one with 20 minutes queues and harassed and impatient people waiting to be served. If you have more than one they tell you to screen shot all of them before getting in the queue, but then there’s no way of knowing which QR code relates to which parcel!

    I’m just pleased I have a label printer !

However , locally to me a lot of small shops that usually take Yodel  are now taking RM parcels (possibly worried about drop in trade as Yodel isn’t on the SD system) , and as far as I understand, they use the QR codes,

Personally, I like to write the address on the parcel so I know which label matches. You can also see the item in the same email as the QR code.

I'm just looking now as once again my sales have all been parcel size via Evri.

    When you go to the

    Get prepaid label

page you don't see a buyer name to check whether it matches the name on the account (many of mine don't) but you do see the postcode, which is all that matters.

However when you then click on create label you see the full name and address and a tracking number before you even choose whether to print the label or get the QR code..

When you open the QR code though there is nothing on it to identify the buyer at all, no name or postcode, just the QR code. I only get Evri sales, so don't know if it is the same for RM. This would mean when selling multiple items, add the postcode to the package and when you go to the Evri shop, open each sale and check the postcode before using the QR code.

This does however mean that the way my PO suggest doing it by screenshotting or downloading all the QR codes (due to no internet or mobile phone signal) won't work
