eBay simple delivery (merged)

One thing I’ve just seen mentioned, which hasn’t come up on here before is what happens when a buyer buys something via BIN or auctions and pays and then cancels , and don’t forget the new easy cancellation process means buyers can just cancel. It seems that the official response is that buyer has to wait 30 days for the postage refund part of their payment, which might have the advantage of making buyers think twice about buying things they don’t want. The bad news is though that if seller has opted for ‘seller’ pays, then they also have to wait 30 days to get refunded for the label that eBay issued to them. Another reason to avoid doing ‘free postage/seller pays’ .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi, do you have a screen shot? I manged to set up a delivery policy but cannot find how to change to this policy.soolin said:My layout for SD has just changed on my LL items under 100g and under £10 in total for a couple I decided to relist with better photos.
Instead of advanced or Simple delivery being my options in line with other listings, or just my own postage (as previously with most of my LLs) I now have another tab for Custom postage, and choosing that allows me to continue adding my own postage and ignoring SD.
I can either manually add my postage and options or just use an existing business policy, which I have chosen to do.0 -
Judging by the comments on ebay's and several other hobby forums, the simple delivery insistence is another example of ebay being tone deaf to large numbers of sellers. Not to mention the apparent push for QR codes; which if anyone has been up to speed with numerous crime stories in the last few years, they are recommending people stay totally away from them (in the exact same manner in which it is recommended for people to stay away from links in sms or email messages), as they are attributed to the explosion in payments fraud!0

I'm on a PC so screenshots are a bit difficult as I'm not techie but I just use the old system for switching to my own policy which i have mentioned above,XzavierWalnut said:

On my listing page I get:Postage set-up
Switch to advanced options
How it worksChoose couriersSimple DeliveryPrepaid Royal Mail or Evri label providedFull protection and tracking1-3 working daysPackage size
I just click on advanced options and then > switch to advanced options and i can then input my postage as normal. I can still even do this on parcels, despite the final switch over supposedly being today. I still have all my business policies for postage set up, so just choose RM48 parcel, LL or whatever I want and all the info about GSP and handling time is preset in those policies.

I don't think the conspiracy theory about the QR codes on ebay hold any water at all. When you sell something under SD you get a label sent, you can either use the QR code or print the label, the seller doesn't have to click on anything or scan the QR code, the shop does that. It's just the same sort of system that a lot of people are already using for couriers and even RM.PocketWatchMan said:Judging by the comments on ebay's and several other hobby forums, the simple delivery insistence is another example of ebay being tone deaf to large numbers of sellers. There is not even a push (so far) into opting to use a QR code, sellers can still choose to download a label instead.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. According to my Ebay it is supposed to be Simple Delivery only from today but its not giving me the option. Its all up the creek, my postage options are not there and 2 items I have listed today which are large letter are all coming up as £3.50 postage and Im struggling to change it. Even the option of free postage isnt working. I dont seem to be able to change anything on my postage policy.
Sat down this afternoon to get a few listed and manage 2 in 2 hours. Its really not worth the time.0 -
Thanks, I will have a look.soolin said:

If you're on Windows, pressing Win+PrtScr (windows button, and print screen) should do it. Then I would use Paint to redact any personal info (and crop at the same time, if required).soolin said:

[Edit: sorry it wasn't clear above, I just meant for future reference, not in any way implying that you now ought to try it for this thread - I wouldn't be so presumptuous.]2 -
Screen capture has moved on since Win+Print Screen.
For a long time now the tool has been built in to the Windows operating system,

I’ve actually shared screen shots twice over the years on here, both times, despite re reading everything I managed to leave something identifiable so I no longer trust my abilities to do anything sensible. 😀Spoonie_Turtle said:
