Can't RBS and NatWest customers use each others branches?

Having said that, a very long time ago I recall using Midland Bank branches as a Clydesdale Bank customer.  Distinct and now extinct brands.

The Clydesdale Bank still print money in Scotland and have a website https://secure.cbonline.co.uk
And still are the legal financial institution currently trading as Virgin Money, see the small print on any VM document.

Yes, never said any different. sausage_time said they were "now extinct brands." that's not the case obviously if they're still printing money and have a website.

And I didn't say you did, I was just adding further evidence of their non-extinction.
But I've now looked at their website, and at https://secure.ybonline.co.uk, which is almost identical, but blue, and what I used to use to log in, and they're both fossils frozen in time at the point the Virgin merge happened. It may be that Clydesdale are keeping them for the benefit of old links from somewhere, or maybe they just forgot to turn them off when the transition to Virgin was complete.

Ok, not extinct - thanks for the correction.  Can't remember when I last saw a Clydesdale bank note though.

No specific date mentioned in the article that prompted the thread:

“We’re always looking for ways to make banking easier and more flexible for our customers so, from later this year, we’ll offer customers of Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland the option to use branches of any brand for their in-person banking, alongside our apps, mobile messaging, and telephone services,” the company said.

I’ll be interested to see if they just brand all branches at Lloyds Banking Group then probably stickers on the windows with all different brands. I’m assuming that this came up as they realised that they will have to rebrand all of the Lloyds Banking Group branches to Lloyds and it has been a while since the Bank of Scotland signage outside a lot of branches has been renewed.

I’ll also be curious to see if they keep that string perfumed smell in the new branches like they have in their Bank of Scotland branches.

There’s a Halifax and Lloyds in my town…Wonder which would go? Both seem quite busy most days.

I didn't see anything that suggested any physical change to the branches themselves, just the services offered within them?

Remains to be seen. How does Bank of Scotland handle Lloyds Bank accounts? Are they served at the same counter positions as Bank of Scotland/Halifax customers? I'm sure I remember seeing some reference to some sort of separation.
