I opened it online, very quick, no complications and fully funded it from Chase straight away. CoP worked too.friolento said:I tried applying for the Skipton Members Bonus account through the app, got weird errors twice. I then tried it online and it worked first time round but I wasn't able to transfer anything from another Skipton easy access account or make card deposits. All rather odd. I left it for a couple of hours, and now I could make the transfer and card deposits. Interest rate showing as 5%.0 -
Yes, no problem here either.allegro120 said:

Opened this account easily, but then messed up and transferred the £5k into the wrong account. It ended up in the Member 1 year bond, which should have been closed to additional deposits by now. 🤔UKX69 said:

Had to phone them to get it transferred to the Bonus saver.1 -
Progressive
I too didn't want WhatsApp but I successfully opened an account with its 3 figures hyphen 3 figures account number, and the app is now on my iPhone. With the help of my granddaughter (visiting today) we went through the logging in routine - and it worked. Whether I can operate it in the future remains to be seen but maturity is only a few weeks away. It will depend on what they offer next.
So it needs a smart phone and a technology savvy family member to get over the hump.
(My granddaughter actually uses WhatsApp as her primary vehicle on social media which I found interesting).

Skipton Member Bonus Saver Issue 2
Does anyone recollect how long Issue 1 was around for before it went NLA?I don’t have the funds at the moment to put more than £1 in; however if I wait to open the account I have some regular savers maturing at the end of July and I’d like to maximise my potential interest! Totally understand the risks that come with waiting and this issue could be very different and it could be withdrawn next week. Thanks0 -
I seem to recall it was launched about mid January and then went NLA around early August the same year so it was a while.irregular_saver said:Skipton Member Bonus Saver Issue 2

It's worth noting though that Skipton account terms don't begin until the first deposit is received and you've 30 days to fund them.
Additionally in my experience you can close an account then reopen the same account immediately so there's nothing to stop you doing this if the account's still around in late July to push the maturity date on a bit.7 -
Yes, I've just opened an account and completed an internal transfer into the Issue 2 Members Bonus Saver without issue. Maybe it was initial teething problems?Bobblehat said:
How strange!Kim_13 said:Skipton have launched an Issue 2 of their Member Bonus Saver, paying 5% including a 2.2% bonus for 12 months. Open to those who were Skipton members on or before 2/6/25.
It doesn’t seem to allow internal transfers, though I didn’t spot a restriction to that effect on the product page. Have paid in via Debit Card and hopefully once there is a cleared balance (the account shows as paying 2.8% - the non-bonus rate until funds clear, as happened with the previous version in 2024) this will be possible.
Edit to add: Min £1, Max £5,000 - so better than Issue 1 which was capped at £3,000 if I recall correctly.

Thanks Bridlington. I think I’ll open it and wait until the last minute to either initially fund it or close it and start again!Bridlington1 said:

Thanks, I didn’t realise it was 30 days and assumed 14. Will come in useful to hopefully grab a new RS when mine matures and move it to the end of the month. Yes, Issue 1 was 12th January I think, as it launched alongside the Regular Saver Issue 3 (for which I seem to recall the cut off being that applicants were a member on or before 11/01/24.)Bridlington1 said:

Funds for me are arriving at the end of June so I decided to just minimally fund it as the interest would pay out at the beginning of June 2026 and could be used to fund Regular Savers then.0 -

is everyone showing 2.8% and not 5% after initial deposit?
Same for me, but if you look on the app and click on 'Your savings account explained' and then ' When do I start earning interest?' it states that 'interest from debit card payments starts to accrue on the third business day, from and including the day on which a debit card payment is made'.
I opened and funded by Debit Card yesterday, hence would expect it to show 5% tomorrow.
As expected my account shows 5% today.0
