a reason for closing due to interest though is also you start compounding on that close too.
This is why in the past Cynergy though annoying with new issues on rate rises ended up adding another 0.05-0.1% to effective annual rate0 -
Virgin Money Double Take E-Saver Issue 18 4.15% 2 withdrawals/yr plus closure

Well, according to t&c you are allowed 2 (one sole and one joint). That's how I started a couple of years ago. 2 days ago I got my 16th SD via Quidco. 19 Cahoots in total, more than enough for my EA needs.

I already have one sole SD so worth a punt opening another one through Quidco I guess (as higher rate than TCB)
When you've applied for additional SD acct, do you log in first or just apply without logging into your Cahoot account?

I wish MSE made clear distinction between Instant (you can move money instantly, not taking a working day) and 'Easy' (that often takes at least a day).
many easy accounts are not instant, and it difficult to find out if they are or not. (I know Chase is instant, but i already used my 12 months)
Reason i want an Instant is I keep as little money as possible on current account.. but some shops do not take amex (i pay it off in full obviously), and so i then need to be able to immediately move money to current account to cover it.

Getting another credit card would be an obvious solution. A Lloyds Ultra (say) would pay 1% cashback too.
General rule of thumb, if a saver account is easy/instant and is offered by an institution that has a current account product, then it probably is instant.

Don't need to login, apply as if you are a new customer. The system will match your details and you should receive the e-mail with your new account number (normally within less than a minute).

Weirdly I had a similar thought the other day, that there's a lot of housekeeping I could do to simplify things for my daughter aka my executor should I know when my time was soon to be up, assuming I still had the wherewithal at that time.

Tesco Internet Saver allows instant transfers to both my current accounts. Perhaps this would be suitable for you?

This post from from @ircE last December has a list of EA accounts which are truly instant - the rates will be out of date, but it at least gives you a short-list of some non-highstreet banks who offer instant access (clicking on the date takes you to the original post if you can't expand it).
Cross-referencing with Moneyfactscompare shows that Spring (from Paragon Bank) is still at 4.11% and is currently the highest-paying account from the banks in that table.
Cahoot's Sunny Day Saver is also instant (I think) and pays 5.00% for balances under £3k. No app for Cahoot though (I believe you can no longer use Santander's app for Cahoot like you could in the past).
