New Santander App

Futuristic said:Got email today stating the new app is coming soon, seems like they upgraded early on Android but not iOS still on old.
For those contacting customer service and surprised they don't have a clue, it shouldn't be a surprise. Pretty typical at large corporations doing changes like this they wouldn't have a clue and I would stop annoying them to be honest.
Thing is when I rang I asked to speak with anyone higher up etc and it never happened, so no getting through to a manager, no tech team, 0 nothing.
It's taken someone contacting me today via phone & email to even attempt to get further with my issues after putting things through the other day as a complaint.
Santander don't do themselves any favours in regards to things, they give at least 2 phone numbers for getting help via Twitter/X, I asked them what the difference was, no reply.
They've also made out they have no issues when I can view messages to them directly from people saying they have app, website etc issues.
End of the day I want easy access to the thousands I'm storing with them & currently I don't because neither santander app is working for my pixel pro 7 & their website doesn't work properly on it either.
So ideally I need 1 app that works on it, because I had 1 (original) then 2 (original + pilot) then just original because pilot stopped working (hence the picture in my previous post) & now I'm down to 0 because original stopped working a few days ago (same day as GB News reported problems)
I got told today I needed to redownload pilot so to humour Santander I did & you can see from a previous post pilot still tells me to delete pilot.
Apparently everything is getting forwarded to Santander "Back Room" whatever that means.0 -
What a complete farce. Went to log in told me to open e-mail via app that I haven't got. Download e-mail app so could log after going though numerous cycles of inputting the data it locked me out. Now I have to want for them to post me a code!
Let's Be Careful Out There1 -
I've sorted out my app issues out by simply restarting my phone, cannot believe it's taken till today for Santander to even suggest that to me.0

!A - that's the really uninformative error message you get if trying to use the app this morning.

I find a lot of these posts strange as I have experienced no issues at all using the updated and new app on my android phone.
I've used it practically daily too.
Have I just been lucky?1 -

But there's all sorts of variables.
I was fine on my Android for a while so didn't understand people were getting issues on iOS etc.
Clearly iOS seems to have its own issues with updates to the Santander app process.0 -

I suspect there is a silent majority who like you doesn't have a problem.
Having said this, I am quite happy that I have as yet not been asked to upgrade / to ditch the Pilot app. I am majorly disappointed with what I have seen of the Pilot app. The only half-useful enhancement for me is the sorting of payees in alphabetical order. Nothing else adds anything IMO. Quite a few 'enhancements' in the Pilot app are an actual PITA, starting with the waste of precious display space at the top of the home page, to their decision that I want to see my cards on the home page (I don't), to inability to edit the payee name after a COP match has been found (functionality exists in old app). It's actually so bad that I am seriously considering moving most of my main current account away from Santander, after having been with them for well over a decade. I'd keep my cashback-earning DDs at Santander, though, as these are actually worth £60+ a year for me.

Forced move to new app yesterday. All seems to work as expected, no issues. (All I have is Easy Access Saver Limited Edition Issue 3 which will be retired on Monday anyway when the interest rate drops)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Credit Cards and Budgeting & Bank Accounts boards. Just noticed my app icon had disappeared from my home screen.
Searched all apps and it was still there in the background.
Opened it and it led me through the new version. Seems ok.
Dragged it back to my homepage. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.56% of current retirement "pot" (as at end January 2025)0
