New Santander App
Comments

Santander seem to have multiple issues recently and they haven't responded to the complaint I made on the phone a few days ago.
Their responses on Twitter/X don't seem to be helpful etc either.
Uninstall/Reinstall, erm people have already done that & still can't use the app.
I pointed out several examples to Santander other people having same/similar issues in regards to the app and they ignored me.
Even brought up the website not working properly on my phone.
Seems they don't care enough about customers0 -
I've just installed the new app, all in all I find it's bordering on being unusable. For me the layout isn't an issue, the issue is that it seems to run so much slower than the old app and is prone to crashing.
I downloaded the app, it took 3 OTPs before it would finally let me in to the app as it kept freezing and closing when I input them. I had to input my 5 digit security number 4 times as it went round in a loop of asking me for the number, then freezing and asking for it again. It then froze for around 30 seconds when I went to make a payment and closed down again. Eventually it let me make a transfer between my accounts before freezing again.
In the end I just reverted to online banking, which fortunately wanted a OTP to log in rather than verification in the app as it did prior to the ``upgrade" so was plain sailing from there. I think I'll probably just use online banking for now (at least until when/if they make the app run more smoothly) as it's just quicker and less irritating.0 -

Santander got back to me today, still implying I'm in the wrong etc.
Santander saying they updated their pilot app not the original app etc.
They telling me I should download Pilot, I'm saying the pilot app told me to delete pilot.
Sent them screenshots/pics taken.
Also kept telling them I'm Android & also told them about their website not working properly on my phone0 -
Here is how my original updated app has been looking the past few days, no logon or anything just a frozen logo0

Apparently I'm the only one in the world that's reporting all this to them according to Santander, doubt it0

I logged into the app today, took a little while as I was waiting for the OTP only to realise they wanted my security code instead. Once I did that, OTP arrived, used the ID check and turned on biometrics and it worked ok but as I don't have any accounts with them as the bot actually managed to close my unused BT credit card as requested I can't comment on that. If it helps, Android 14, pixel 6 pro
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Got email today stating the new app is coming soon, seems like they upgraded early on Android but not iOS still on old.
For those contacting customer service and surprised they don't have a clue, it shouldn't be a surprise. Pretty typical at large corporations doing changes like this they wouldn't have a clue and I would stop annoying them to be honest.0 -
