So I'm waiting on 06-09 & 13-09, so 06 is bang on 14 days.👍

I cancelled my Happy Hour today as the solar forecast improved, back to 4 Happy Hours in the bank, and another due from Wed and Thurs saving sessions last week which are still calculating.

I'm going to have to start using them at some point.

used 2 of ours today - just coming down to the last 20 mins now - quite impressed w ourselves at one point we hit 14kwh usage with EV charging, dishwasher, tumble dryer steam mop hoovering and pressure washer (not all the same time)

meant to add we popped our solar battery on battery 1st after exporting about half the battery in the hour prior to both saving sessions

Those who use Streamlit to look at their baseline usage for the power down / saving sessions, does yours look really messed up this week?

There's obviously something wrong going on with the backend data at Octopus so the data it's pulling from their API is just all over the place.

Qualified for our first Octopus 'Happy hour' this weekend, was told we get free electricity for an hour upto a maximum 16kwh. Seems fair enough.

I selected the hour option, set battery to charge at 5kwh for the relevant hour and told wifey to run the dishwasher and, washing machine during this period. Win \ win. Or so I thought!

Because it's sunny, my solar is generating 5kwh such that it's meeting all the demand and not importing any of the 'happy hour' free energy!

As Im on Octopus Flux, how are you supposed to benefit from the 'happy hour'? There's no way to turn off solar generation I can see or prioritise the happy hour free import over it?

How do other people with solar pv manage the Octopus happy hour free import? What am I missing?

forgot the garden weed burning - and in the last 10 mins of our 2x hour sessions we made cheese toasties. 😋

ye it’s a problem when the sun is shining. I knew our forecast was mainly cloudy so decided to proceed. You can cancel the session up to 5 mins before so I would have done that if it looked like it was going to come sunny.

Having said all that -it still came sunny here last 25 minutes but with the EV charging we will always benefit as that draws 7.5kwh per hour and the battery is blind to the EV charger.

D'oh! Yes, given how quickly the battery was charging from solar (I'd deliberately only charged to 5kwh capacity overnight), I should have cancelled the HH period!
