Hi. I am on the £15 topup offer. I have just texted
    Info ukrwg1
    To 669

I got an instant delivery report and the allowance balance texted back in roughly 3 seconds.
Just a thought, do you have another device you can put the sim in to text from?
What I have noticed is the allowance text back comes as a popup which describes itself as a class 0 message with the options to cancel or save.
I might have cracked it, if I text the wrong code it comes through as a straight text. I think the problem is your device can't display class 0 messages.
Although I have no idea what they are. Any ideas anyone?

Quick web search says class 0 message could be a network message or could be a popup ad. So maybe your adblocker is intercepting your bundle message?
However that was about android and I know even less about apple than I do my galaxy.
I think it might also be termed a "push notification".
There may be some useful info on an apple user thread about how to selectively unblock them  as I understand it these messages come from nowmobile (the carrier) and not from rwg (the retailer?) so unfortunately you may be in customer service limbo. If no-one else answers before the morning I will try to ask our techie guys at work tomorrow.
  • Phew it’s all a bit too complicated for me, at least at this time of night!  So you used the 1 suffix when you texted? - a few pages back we were advised that it is now 0.  Phone is upstairs on charge but I will have another play with it in the morning.  Thanks for taking the trouble to keep replying.

    You're welcome.
It is 0 if you topped up £5
And 1 if you topped up £15

(It is also 1 if you topped up £5 but are paying £2 per month.. but let's park that)
Anyway the point is that you can receive the messages when you ask about the wrong bundle, but not when you ask about the right bundle. Does anyone have a non apple phone/tablet you can pop your sim in? Will search the forum for anything about apple settings and network notifications as can't believe this is the only network using this technology.

If I can work out how to I might start a thread "rwg and apple"

Stuck the question out there. There must be some apple users getting notifications about rwg

    Someone has replied but I don't know if it helps;

I got a bit confused when you said about mac book and I pad, missed the bit about the phone being on charge upstairs. It might help to know the model of the phone and which device the rwg sim is actually in. Are you texting from that device or a connected one?
The facetime message was probably related to the ipad recognising that one of your devices had a number that wasn't associated with your apple account and wanting you to add it to your account. Google does thinks like that to me, tells me that i signed into my work email on my work laptop three weeks ago.

When you send *669# (or any such code) from your phone, the service reply will relate to the SIM that you are sending from. Similarly with a text message to 669. You can't receive a valid reply relating to a certain SIM that is sent or texted from a different SIM.
    Evolution, not revolution
  • Cracked it at last.  I re-sent to infoukrwg1 instead of infoukrwg0 and it has come back with 99 minutes, 99 texts and 604MB which is what I would expect.  However it refers to “your RWG UK Teaser bundle” - I thought the Teaser bundle was about £2 not the £15 I paid.

Anyway thanks for all the further thoughts.  It is in an old iPhone 5S which is my third phone so wasn’t a big deal really, just a way of hanging onto a nice number without paying for a contract every month.

That’s great, very many thanks for all your help and I hope not to bother you again!

  • Also the reply pops up on the screen and has to be dismissed, so isn’t saved in my text stream.  A bit strange.
