EDF letter today stating my supply address as 120 miles from where I live.

Indeed. See this thread from yesterday. Sounds like a file merge error at EDF. Impressive.Norman_Castle said:EDF letter today stating my supply address as 120 miles from where I live.

I now get my gas from edf and electricity from British Gas, is there any benefit to getting both from one supplier? Presumably all variable tariffs will be at the price cap for the foreseeable future.

In normal times, I think that it may be better to disregard dual fuel discounts and then look for gas and electricity from separate suppliers. In present conditions, I am inclined to hold fast (EDF Gas and Octopus Electricity).Norman_Castle said:I now get my gas from edf and electricity from British Gas, is there any benefit to getting both from one supplier? I think the only 'advantage' at the moment is that you could then get consistently poor service from one supplier, rather than variably poor service from two...Norman_Castle said:I now get my gas from edf and electricity from British Gas, is there any benefit to getting both from one supplier? BG are unsurprisingly offering an eyewatering fixed quote if you attempt this, but EDF does give the option to transfer your electricity to them at the standard variable rate. Personally I will milk the pensioner robbers of BG for all they are worth at the price cap and look to move before they attempt to make any serious money off me.janusdesign said:Norman_Castle said:I now get my gas from edf and electricity from British Gas, is there any benefit to getting both from one supplier? And don't forget we 'may' get the Electric from BG at the current tariff until end of July if their somewhat ambiguous wording on the Welcome To BG tariff is to be believed so its probably not worth shifting the Electric (and BG don't seem to want to offer to take on the gas at SVR)Norman_Castle said:I now get my gas from edf and electricity from British Gas, is there any benefit to getting both from one supplier? "Zog final bill" ? Are we all sure that these "bills" are final. Ive had an energy "statement" upto the 4th December. Im not sure why its to the 4th December because EDF says I didnt start with them till 25th December and thats when they asked for a reading. The energy "statement" from Zog does not say on it that its "final" which is usual practice with other suppliers. The email that was sent out with the pdf statement has 2 text files with it. The html version of the email does say its the final statement. The non html version of the email says its a statement reminding you that its "just a snapshot in time". Apparenty the administators were not appointed till the 9th December so were they still trading normally till then. Why does this matter? If you are small business your credit on the account is not covered like domestic customers and knowing exactly when your "deemed contract" began could be the difference between your credit going towards consumed gas and going in the unsecured creditor "black hole" never to be seen again!0
