"Zog final bill" ? Are we all sure that these "bills" are final. Ive had an energy "statement" upto the 4th December. Im not sure why its to the 4th December because EDF says I didnt start with them till 25th December and thats when they asked for a reading.

The energy "statement" from Zog does not say on it that its "final" which is usual practice with other suppliers. The email that was sent out with the pdf statement has 2 text files with it. The html version of the email does say its the final statement. The non html version of the email says its a statement reminding you that its "just a snapshot in time". Apparenty the administators were not appointed till the 9th December so were they still trading normally till then.
Ofgem states that EDF took over w.e.f. 4 December.

    My email from Zog stated:
Please find attached your final statement from Zog Energy for account number xxxxx.
I guess this is why we all think we've received final bills.

Im not sure of others experience but I had an account with Green that also just went bust and I they sent 3 final invoices and each time the credit was different, last time I looked I was still £100 short with Shell. The response from Shell, was wait and Green will sort it out. I guess looks like those from Zog dated 22nd December and recieved around 6th January are the first round of final statement/invoices/bills.

EDF letter today stating my supply address as 120 miles from where I live.
I received mine a few days ago for an address 400 miles away (and perhaps with change.)

I was a bit worried that someone had set up an account in my name fraudulently but the account number matches so it's just incompetence.
  •  So do they owe me £358?

more correctly you are £358 in credit - they probably have something in the terms & conditions about how much they will be willing to refund you at any time other than closing your account e.g. you need to be at least a month's supply in credit.

Nope, Zog went bust so the £358 will be applied to gunner786's EDF SoLR account in due course.

Yes, so edf will, EVENTUALLY, credit your account with the £358.16
  • I struggle to understand why so many people think that a failed supplier is going to, or is able to, cough up £Ms to cover the repayment of credit balances? The credit balances are paid for by all consumers through a levy added to our energy bills.

    You are owed £358.16

That is because on the Zog tariff you were on and the estimated annual consumption based on the previous 12 months usage, it would have cost you £725.24, so you should have been paying about £60.44 pcm

But you were actually paying Zog £83.97pcm, which means you would have paid Zog over £1000 for the year.

    Why?

Did you expect to use so much more gas this year than last?
Zog were often very reasonable about any request for a refund or reduction in monthly payment (where the figures justified it)
Zog also usually reviewed what you paid every time you opted for a new tariff. When did you join them?

Now you will have to wait for EDF to credit your account with the amount owed, by which time much of the credit may well have been eaten up by the much more expensive EDF tariff you are now on.

I struggle to understand why you think the credit balances of a failed supplier is going to be recovered through a levy added to our energy bills.

It's been explained to you countless times, and with evidence, that that is not necessarily the case.

But you still repeat the errant messages on this site.
