Zog has gone 😢

I was with Symbio. EON took over from 2 Oct and my balance was credited 30 Nov so 8 weeks. By that measure we should be looking no earlier than end of Jan for the credit to be applied especially considering the holidays. I must admit the EDF transfer has been a bit tortuous compared to Symbio / EON though.

I've switched my gas away from EDF back to Octopus (where my electricity is). EDF said they would raise a final bill in due course and send my Zog credit to me as a cheque when the credits are finally deal with. I'm not in any hurry because I didn't allow my Zog credit to get out of hand - it's around £20.Adviceuk3 said:This process doesn't half seem to drag. I have had my final big with a credit of £486.00 on it.
Still no appearance on the EDF account. From what I have read with Utility Point to EDF still many customer have not seen there credit.
I am starting think EDF Energy id dragging this process along to "cash in" on customers so that they are stuck with them and cant do anything.
My only concern is seeing my balance from Zog to go to EDF but this is taking far too long.
If we have had our final bill EDF should know the final readings and credits of accounts
So you don't have to stick with EDF if you really don't want to...0 -
All online with EDF now and I'd sent them a first reading as requested in December. BUT I got an email a few days ago from them saying that I should switch to DD payments to save money. I have now done this but the account had been set up for monthly cash/ cheque payments.
When GNE and Neon Reef went bust the new supplier defaulted to the same DD payment method that I'd had with GNE and Neon Reef. It's a but weird that EDF decided to set my account to a more expensive payment method when I'd paid Zog by DD.
It might just be me but worth checking that your EDF payment method is still DD if you have moved from Zog.0 -

This is a higher cost tariff than payment by DD (as allowed by Ofgem price cap)
EDF have said they will refund the difference to all customers who set up payment by DD before the end of this month.

In regards ex-Neon Reef customers, BG also initially set up all customers on payment by cash/cheque. But they simply set their SoLR tariff at the same price no matter how the customer paid (i.e. at the lower DD cap level)
According to BG, they are still working on transferring DD mandates over to them, or you will be advised when you can set up a DD mandate direct with BG

I’ve had my final zog bill and the final read is 200 higher than edf’s opening read. I have asked edf to correct it so I am not paying twice for the overlap but I’m not holding my breath. This is despite having a smart meter which should have provided them with a correct opening read.0

Latest update from EDF suggests that all Zog customers have had their final bills up to 3rd Dec.
No timescales on applying credits which is annoying as ,I suspect in common with many, I was carrying a credit to cope with Winter costs. After all ,we can't be talking about a huge number as Zog only had 11500 customers!
I, fortunately, can afford to pay the higher costs for these Winter months ,but I suspect there will be many who will struggle to find the money without the credits.1 -

If you are on Budget Direct Debit you only get billed twice a year so as long as the credit is applied within six months of the contract start date (and something must have gone horribly wrong if it isn't) then there shouldn't be an affordability problem or any need to find the money.brewerdave said:Latest update from EDF suggests that all Zog customers have had their final bills up to 3rd Dec.

But some people are being told the monthly payment will be reviewed well before 6 months ... and at a time when most people are using most gas.The_Green_Hornet said:

As already discussed, if you provide a meter reading this will usually result in a new bill, as long as the reading is provided after 28 days of the previous bill or start date.
The 6 month billing only applies as a long stop if you don't give any meter readings, in which case EDF will estimate them.

Hi, Has anyone been able to find opening and subsequent meter readings on their account page? If so, please could you direct me? I think I have brain freeze. I can only see the last meter reading. I want to be able to see it to ascertain that the last reading to Zog and first reading to EDF match. It worries me that we wont get a bill for 6 months and I might forget where I am up to.
Thanks0 -

No I can't either ...not on the app or web portal. Now I'm on a smart meter I can even see the last reading (well any readings at all actually). For a major utility supplier the information is appalling and the web portal and particularly the app are dreadful. Even BG gives more info on their web portal and that's saying something.....at least I can see my latest daily smart meter reading on their web portal.movingon said:Hi, Has anyone been able to find opening and subsequent meter readings on their account page? ThanksUsed to get much better info from small companies like Yorkshire Energy and Neon Reef.1
