Got mine this morning too, spot-on as I submitted a read on 4th Dec as soon as we knew they were gone and has been used for the final read & bill. £126-odd credit to carry forward to EDF once it all settles.

The EDF start-date will be one to watch, as someone will want paying for gas used between 4th and 15th of Dec, which was the earliest date shown anywhere on the EDF MyAccount. EDF were on about billing from 15 Dec - 18 Jan, but that has since dropped off the account, but think I'll pop a reading in on 17th Jan anyway and request a bill....that will act as a check as to what opening read EDF are using.
Submitted my reading to EDF on 31/12, as I got into a habit of doing with Zog

At that time, they were planning on sending me a bill about 21/01 anyway.

But yesterday I set up payment by DD, budget basis (same amount every month) as I could not see how to do it as whole bill payment.

I asked for payment to be collected 4th of every month, and they said they would collect first payment on 20/01 to allow for minimum notice requirements and future payments would be collected 4th of every month, starting 04/02.

No advance notice received, and online it just refers to first collection will be 04/02, so whether or not they will collect on 20/01 I don't know.

Also, budget payments suggested billing would be every 6 months when the monthly payment would be reviewed. I was happy for that as by June/July we would have had some expensive winter months and some cheap summer months, so 6 month bill should be about 50% of EAC.

But now it says 1st bill will be 07/02, or earlier if I submit a meter reading then. That's going to be high due to cold winter weather.

I strongly suspect EDF will try and hike the agreed DD at that point, as the account will be in debit (past experience of EDF) - unless Zog credit balance gets added to account.
If so, I will be insisting on variable DD paying whole amount of monthly bill.

I've no issue with EDF billing from 04/12, as that is when Ofgem ordered them to take over the supply. (Zog final bill only goes to 04/12)

You should receive an email from EDF confirming that the Direct Debit has been set up detailing when the first and subsequent payments will be collected. The same information will also show up on the Account activity section of your online account.

Got my final bill. Submitted readings when requested but they have estimated the figure (just one unit out)
for 4th Dec which is actually nearer the figure for today 6th Jan.
I am still in credit as expected.
I've submitted readings to EDF as requested , so I suppose I will have to query with them if their starting reading is too high.

I think the real question is going to be how the EDF and Zog figures marry up.  If they are not the same then there is going to be some issues that they (EDF and Zog) will need to sort out.  How much time do you think they will want to spend on sorting out official complaints?

EDF’s data collector will have passed a validated meter reading to both EDF and Zog to open and close your accounts. I would be very surprised if there are many issues.
  • I've just received a letter from EDF (correct account number/wrong supply address!) stating that, from now on, my billing date will be later, to allow them to carry out a meter reading visit. Has anyone else had this?

Got mine this morning as well. Actual meter reading on the 30/11 estimated on the 4/12. Not sure why estimated as previous were coming from our smart meter.

Zog are no more; they are currently in administration. They are no longer licenced to supply gas or electricity.
EDF, as the gaining supplier, are responsible for ensuring the start meter reading used is the same as the old supplier used to close the account.

Like Dolor says, and explains, I very much doubt there will be any difference, but if there is, then I suggest a complaint is filed against EDF. The supplier has upto 8 weeks to resolve any complaint. If they fail to do so, you can ask the OS to assist you in getting a resolution.

    Thanks.

Can see that in the Account activity section, and now have the email.
It confirms a collection later this month, and then payments every 4th from Feb.
I guess I'll go with that.

It also confusingly refers to an annual DD review, whereas I thought it was twice a year.
And it says the annual review may be more often if I give them regular meter readings.
Makes me inclined not to provide them with regular meter readings ...

I can see this is going to end up me requesting a change to pay whole monthly bill by DD.
