I'm still getting them - and more than I actually want, until they give us the option to receive one e-mail a day.  Have you checked that your e-mail provider isn't treating them as spam?  Some ISPs's systems have mis-identified them as spam.

Why do the compers need to SHOUT about it when the search function does not work exactly to their liking?

There was a post you made on page 1 of this thread, on that subject - I don't suppose that's the one you're thinking of?
Thanks Molly that's the one. I didn't realise it was on page one.

Gods I wish they would give us more posts on the page, like the previous forum.

Before a comper shares a competition they have discovered, they should search to see if has been posted already. If a less experienced user posts a competition that a regular user suspects is a duplicate post, search is needed to find the original and warn other users. The reason for all this is that entrants can be disqualified if they make more than a single entry. Since Search stopped working on Wednesday evening, several competitions have been posted 2, 3 and even 4 times and lots have people have disqualified themselves by making multiple entries.
As to SHOUTING, unfortunately years of experience has shown that shouting is the only way to get the problem noticed and actioned by the MSE techs. This is especially true at the moment when true fault reports are swamped by hundreds of whinges about the new forum.

Don't you think there's a reason for 'hundreds of whinges'? You seem to be advocating that 'he who shouts the loudest'.... is more likely to get mse to sort out their particular issue with the dreadful mess they've made of this migration.

Could someone explain to me the reason for the use of the @ username (no space)  thing that has started happening on the forum?

I assume it is a Facebook, Twitter or Instagram thingy, but I don’t use those, so I don’t know.

When you click on the blued-up name, it just takes you to their profile page, which you can get to by clicking on their username or pic anyway, so what’s the advantage in having the @ with it?

    I’m puzzled.

To @Pyxis is to "Tag" the person who will then get a Notification that they have been mentioned. Clicking on the Notification will then take them directly to the post where they have been mentioned. It is a way of talking direct to another member and attracting their attention to a comment which they may not otherwise see. Yes, the same sort of thing is used on most social media sites. Without the @, there is no Tag and no Notification.

    Ah! Thanks, @thingamaBob !
Yes, another question was going to be what is tagging, so you have answered that for me as well.

edit...... Just thought..so, if you don’t want them to know you’ve mentioned them, you just leave the @ off, is that right?

They wont get a personal Notification but they may still come back to that thread and see what is written especially if they have selected, in Notifications, to receive notification of new posts in threads they have posted in.
