MollyR said:What devices are you using? Desktop, laptop, tablet or phone? Which platform - Windows, Android, iPhone etc.? This information will enable somebody using the same set-up to answer your question. Oh, and if the forum software is American in origin, its spell-checker will also be American - maybe the team can switch this to British English, but they've got an awful lot of other things to sort out first!

Similar problem.......I have two iPads, and on one, the newer one, an Air, using iOS 10.3, I can’t get the Forum at all. Nothing.
On the other, the older one, but with the very latest iOS, (12 point something), I can only get full functionality in landscape orientation, but not in portrait, but stillhave other problems.
So, it may be some incompatibility with iOS, rather than your phone being older, but I really don’t know. Loads of people have reported similar problems. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -

It seems the responses on this and the snagging thread are analogous to driving a car. We have those who simply drive a car but don't know (and don't want to know) much more than the basics of how it works. Then there are the 'petrol heads' who both drive and understand how it all works and could do their own repairs if needed.
I'm sure that those who are suggesting fixes and ways round all the problems that the new site has thrown up intend to be helpful but it's not much use to the average 'motorist'.
I'm sure I'm not alone in being bemused by much of the techie stuff being suggested. I just want to be able to use the site. As it is, it's not fit for purpose. There isn't even a manual.5 -

So, as people are finding out, through trial and error, or through better expertise, how to use various aspects of the new forum, they can share that knowledge with others who are struggling.(I just lurve spiders!)

(Apparently, a minority of people were using it to ‘bully’ others, so it was withdrawn).(I just lurve spiders!)

Copied from the New Forum Snagging thread:EssexHebridean said:Something which we rely on over on DFW is the ability to use different coloured text - for example for commenting on SOAs - having that back would be very useful indeed. I see that the different colours are now showing in signatures so presumably the tech is there, Just not enabled for posting currently.
The only way I've found to do this so far is:
This is red or this is blue or this is green or, using colour codes, this is #DB7900.
The code for the above is as follows:<span style="color:red">This is red</span> or <span style="color:blue"> this is blue</span> or <span style="color:green">this is green</span> or, using colour codes, <span style="color:#DB7900">this is #DB7900</span>
It is fiddly, and it will take time to get it right; and if you forget to put it back into HTML mode when you edit it, it will lose the code! So keep a working copy in a text editor that you can copy and paste again when necessary. Once you are using it regularly, you can simply copy and paste from previous posts.1 -

On the list of threads, each thread title has a teal-coloured ‘bookmark’ symbol just before it.Orville said:Probably me, but I can't see a way to unsubscribe from a thread..?
Click on the symbol, and when it turns white, you are unsubscribed.
