I've seen a considerable amount of people with concerns regarding the brightness, glare, and purported garishness of the new forum. What I would suggest is get your Web Browser to handle all that for you!

Take a look at several recommendations:

Dark Reader: Chrome, Firefox, and Safari

Dark Background and Light Text: Firefox << my personal fave!

Dark Mode: Chrome, Firefox, Opera

This makes life very difficult. I used to have one folder for daily entry competitions, another for comps I've won, another for Advents (obviously not needed at the moment) etc. Now all my bookmarks are lumped together and this is useless for entering daily comps, as it would mean going through every saved thread.

Use your browser's Bookmarks. Create the same named folders and save links to the threads in them. Check them daily.

It will bring up the Comps main board in order of thread start date/time with the newest at the top. I gather that a "sort" function is being worked on so that you can sort whichever way you want.

My username didn't have spaces in it so I expected it to remain as it was but it has been changed, anyone know why?

What was it before? Was it SMC or SMC2? If it was SMC then there may have been another one or more (smc, SmC, Smc sMc etc) so you ended up being numbered.

To control notifications, in your Profile, select Notification Preferences on the left, then tick or untick "Notify me when people comment on my bookmarked discussions". At present, notifications for new posts are only on or off, i.e. one e-mail per post or none at all; you cannot choose the frequency of the e-mails you receive, nor can you choose to receive them for one bookmarked topic and not another. Hopefully this will be changed as the MSE team work through the list of thing which need to be fixed.

You're not with BT are you? A few people had issues receiving the activation email because they were blocked by BT. We had to add the address the activation email was coming from to a whitelist and then ask again for the activation email to be sent.

For anybody that's having this issue with BT the blacklisted email address MSE are using is....forum.noreply @moneysavingexpert.com.....this needs to be added to your whitelist which is found in your email account...settings...more settings....on the left from the list "filters".... then you can add that address to the whitelist and ask to have the activation email re-sent.
