The Profile layout could use some attention. The selection box for Activity/Notifications/Threads/Replies/Inbox etc allows you to select from these mutually exclusive options but then when the option you want displays, it is way down the page after all the badges and reactions etc - so several pages of scrolling to get there if you have lots of badges which are all massive.
On mobile, the selection of what you want to view on your profile page (i.e. between Activity/Notifications/Threads/Replies/Inbox etc) is removed from the left sidebar, but instead of moving it to the top of the profile page it has been moved to appear AFTER the view of your notifications, threads, replies etc. So if you are on your profile page in Replies view and want to flip it to notifications view... first scroll four pages to get to the start of your replies (past all the static profile information such as name and status and badges etc)... then scroll a further eight pages that show your most recent 20 reply links followed by QuickLinks. Then finally you get to the option to change from Replies view to Notifications or Threads view. but it has taken you twelve pages to get there.
You might hope that if it's at the bottom you can just swipe quickly as fast as you can to get down there. But at the very bottom there's all the footer stuff (how this site works) and sidebar stuff (tools and calcs, blog, moneysaving email) so literally five pages of scrolling to get back up from the very bottom to the selection box for Activity/ Notifications/ Threads/ Replies/ Inbox etc
On mobile if I am going to my own profile on a forum it is to get a link to my recent posts or other activity or to see recent notifications I might have missed. I don't need literally seventeen pages on mobile to cover this. It would be great if some of the bloat could be removed, and if not, some more thought given to what regular users of a forum might find important.

How do I disable Private Messaging, please? For reasons I won't go into, I disabled the function on the old site, but I can't see a way to do it here.

So I think I may be one of the few that likes the colours. Only issue I have on my phone (apart from the dates issue that's already been reported) is the overlay of views and the green line.

Can we have "last visited on" (time/date) back again please ;-)
I've noticed that posts from yesterday do not have a time appended whereas today's do. . . Is this correct?1 -
colours, fine, and brings a nice seperation to the page, maybe try altering your actual monitors settings / resolution if it looks "big" you could be on a low res, and / or your dpi scaling is off.
the emails being per comment (annoying on a very popular thread) are annoying, i had mine set to daily for some, weekly digest for others.
as ever though, people will complain, its the natural fear of change, and the re learning. i embrace it tbh.
the old one must have been broken and just patched and bodged, it was old, ancient in tech terms tbf.

It used to be automatic as soon as you had posted on that thread.
Look near the top of the page, you will see a cog, the thing to the left of that is the book mark.
You can also click your profile, edit profile, notifications and pick what you want to receive notifications for and either by email (which is each reply) or pop up (down the bottom of your screen if on a phone)Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Each Web browser also goes about implementing web standards (you may have heard of W3C?) in frustratingly non-conforming ways. Firefox is perhaps the closest to adhering to these standards. Chrome can be more cutting edge, especially to Google's own products, but at the sacrifice of observing those standards. Safari is actually one of the worst for this. I spent some considerable time in the past working with various organisations (Mozilla, Microsoft, Google, Samsung etc.) on Web Compatability.
It's such a minefield of differentating status that they together decided to contribute to Mozilla's MDN Web Compatability tables seen at the bottom of most of their articles. For example, at the bottom of this page you see how each Web browser has implemented document cookies - along with version number and and notes https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Document/cookie
This perhaps might shed some light as to why many MSE users are having a variety of different problems with this new forum. Each browser handles the pages differently. Something to consider when pulling your hair out that something in this new forum does not work as you might expect. It may not actually be the forum's fault, but the technology choice you've made in your preferred Web browser has gone about making things work behind the scenes.
TL;DR: Consider testing in another Web browser if you're having trouble.“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)3
