Clf, I hope you're feeling better soon.
Ziggy, have a lovely little break!
Its been a lovely day today. We went out for a birthday breakfast with my parents & sister. We had a lovely long brunch followed by a long walk in the sunshineMy dad wouldn't let us pay for brunch, so we have managed a 3rd day without opening my purse!
(we were going to get milk but I have some carton milk so decided to make do with that
)
We didn't need a big meal tonight so we've had some veg & hummous followed by cheese and crackers . The kids had the last two ice cream cones out of the freezer and dh and I had a little slice of a cake my friend made us for xmas.
Not sure what we'll do this weekend but we could go to the cinema using gift vouchers we already have if we fancy it. Maybe go to the library to take some books back and have a walk by the sea. Meeting a friend for a catch up on Sunday I think, if we do then that will be using a costalot gift voucher. At lot of it depends on what the weather does!

Evening all
Sorry to hear that you are poorly again CLF
Enjoy your break Ziggy, sounds fab
Been out for lunch today to meet up with an old friend. OH and I paid as it was to celebrate her birthday. We both ate too muchOnly crackers and cheese for dinner tonight, and back to sensible eating (and moneysaving!) tomorrow!
The only remotely MSE small things I have done today is to check OH's and my HMRC accounts to make sure there is no tax owing. There isn't (yay! :j)
And walk the dog for a bit of free exercise. He didn't want to go very far though, so not much progress re walking off that big lunch
Back on it tomorrow, though DD2 and kids will no doubt appear and stifle progress :rotfl:0 -
Hello
Hope you're feeling better soon CLF.
Well done on the win Ziggy - hope you enjoy it
I've had another quiet day today - held onto my nsd's as well - but I will have to do a bit of shopping tomorrow. As it happens I have an appointment for a haircut tomorrow as well so I will do all of my spending on one day. The kids are going wild because there's 'nothing in' to eat - except our cupboards and freezer are full to overflowing at the moment...
Other than that - just preparation for getting back to work next week. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Morning everyone
CLF i hope u r feeling better soon
ziggy enjoy the comp win, what an amazing treat for the new year
1LL still cannot find the 2 missing presents. Checked all my usual storage areas but nothing. No doubt they will turn at Easter!!!!
Picked up a few reduced bits at Tesc@ yesterday but realised the cat litter has gone up by 40p a bag so not very happy.
Must get my spends book up and running again
DD wanted to go to Cost@ yesterday and i needed to post some RM survey items. Had a voucher for cost@ cashed out from quidco so happy the final bill only came to £4.
Dont feel very productive at the minute. Im covering a session for a colleague later on.
Really want to get the tree down but it will have to wait until tomorrow i think.
Started decluttering but very slow
Can't think of anything else, have a great day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning all
Think I might be fending off a lurgyI have a condition which means I don't have as much resistance to bugs as I might have, and grandchildren who constantly pass them on - hopefully I will continue to fend it off  Last time I ended up with a horrible cough that lasted for 6 weeks, constantly kept me awake and ended up with having my asthma meds changed for while to a stronger alternative which didn't suit me at all. Now thankfully changed back!
Awaiting imminent arrival of DD2 and kids, but I have managed the following so far:
Packed an ebay parcel
Made spicy carrot and lentil soup, which just needs blending in a minute when it has cooled down enough, and the seasoning checked. Used up some more pre-Christmas carrots, and it will feed OH, DD and I for lunch, so happy with thatThe kids will probably want pasta.
Kitchen tidy, put a few things away
Replenished one of my 'displays' of decorative and / or interesting items as I have sold a couple recently and it was looking a bit sparse. If it is nicely packed in, nobody notices the dust :rotfl: Used stuff I have in boxes in the loft. I mostly buy it to sell on (small antiques / vintage business) but there is no reason why I shouldn't 'use' it while I have it
DD will probably leave mid afternoon so I might tackle the old wooden chests in the bedrooms (GD calls them 'treasure chests' :rotfl:). They are full of bedding, blankets, cushions, curtains etc, and I am sure there is some stuff in there that can either be sold or chucked out!
And a dog walk will be needed at some stage
Dinner will be macaroni cheese, to use up some Christmas cheese and a little bit of lurking cream.
No plans for spending today0 -
Afternoon all,
Dawn, I hope you manage to fight off the lurgy!
HK, I hope you find the missing pressies soon! I found mineit had fallen behind the cupboard.
CCL, its nice to "hear" you sounding relaxed
Clf, I hope you're feeling better too.
Todays been quite productive.
* made a leek and potato soup using the last of the chicken stock from the fridge and the bag of 19p potatoes bought before xmas.
* put a beef stew in the slow cooker with some of the small potatoes, some swede/celery/carrots/parsnip I'd previously frozen. A nice easy meal for tonight.
* some bread taken out of the freezer for our breakfasts.
* walked to the post office to send the small parcel off to mus1c magp1e - I like clutter leaving the house. It was lovely bright and mild for our walk and we didn't buy anything else in the shop so it will be another no spend day today. (Making use of the carton milk I have in the garage)
* gave the kitchen a good clean using stardrops/washable cloths
* my dad popped in to give dh's hair a trim before he goes back to work next week.
* I've joined the "frump to fab" thread on here and so am starting to use make up/perfume/hand creams etc that I already have in.
* A small parcel came this morning for ds, so the packaging has been flatted & saved in case we need it for anything.
* Banking has been checked and spreadsheet updated. I need to do more research about new savings accounts as we've both had an account mature this week.
Thats it so far.

Hi all,
Hope everyone that’s poorly feels better soon.
Had a productive couple of days. Took the decorations down and cleaned on New Year’s Day. I was another person who dragged her handbag along the floor to work on Thursday and Friday!
All meals have been from stores although we did pop to Azda last night as I had ordered some cheap bits for the hospital bag (like a nightie as I can’t rock up in one of Mr Pea’s old t-shirts that I usually wear to bed!). While there we got the bump some bodysuits and sleepsuits, so at least now he’ll have something to wear other than socks and knitted cardis. These were bought out of our carefully managed baby budget.
We need to do a food shop today so I’ll do a list and go to @ldi later. We’ve got lots of veggie chilli and some bolognese in the freezer so just really need fresh stuff and things for lunches. It’s my birthday on Monday but I’ll be at work as my maternity cover is starting. Mr Pea has offered to get us a takeaway pizza as a treat but I’m feeling so huge and unhealthy at the minute I don’t know if I fancy one (plus it’ll cost £20!). Might feel different on Monday though
So apart from the food shop today there won’t be any other spending this weekend. I’ve got the bathroom and downstairs loo to clean plus ironing. Also want to go through the Xmas TV and radio guide and see what we can watch on catch up.

Lovely to catch up with what everyone's been doing. I'm not feeling too good today, but have already droned on about that quite enough on my diary. It kind of feels like time to return to normal routines, doesn't it? We are hoping to go out somewhere nice in a neighbouring county tomorrow for a walk (& last cake for a while!) if I feel well enough.
At least I haven't spent any money today & Mr F did a good grocery shop.
