What small DFW things will you do w/c 30th December?

Options
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

  • Morning all :hello:

I know some people may not be back at work yet but getting back into small things habits on here will hopefully help everyone, whether back in a routine or not.

    My list today:
Final triage of fridge, did it yesterday and portioned and froze some stuff but just want a final check
Visiting family for a couple of hours
    Pack last few presents away
Start to put some decorations away
Check banking and just for points CC
    Check £co
Start a shopping list, won't be going today but conscious being organised even for items that aren't urgent pays off in the long run

Have a good day all. Purps.

    Morning all :)
Thanks for starting the thread Purps :)
Late start for me this morning for some reason, but so far I have:
Washed my hair with never ending shampoo bar and left it to dry on its own
    Cheapie porridge breakfast
Sorted out some washing, no rain forecast again today :T
    Still to do:
Check banks and update spreadsheet, thinking of using a different system for 2020

    Some housework :(
Washing, peg outside when done, will finish off on airer in front of the wood stove overnight

Use-up stuff for meals, cold meat and salad again probably
Freezer tetris as OH brought back some pheasants a couple of days ago

Someone is supposed to be collecting something after lunch
I have an ebay parcel to pack and post. I will use recycled packaging as usual.

    Dog walk later
No spending - my shopping list still has only 2 items on it

    Nothing remotely exciting!

  • Morning everyone

Lovely day here today. Ive got an eco wash on which im going to put out as there is a lovely fresh breeze. It is worrying though when it feels like a spring day already.

Have been to town to post a birthday present-present bought reduced a few months back, i used recycled packaging and RM stamps:j

Slowly still putting Christmas presents away. foxgloves u r totally right. I buy throughout the year as i just cant manage it all otherwise, but presents go awol!!!!! One last place to check today for DDs 2 missing christmas presents:rotfl::rotfl:

Going to sort out the fridge later to see if anything needs freezing. DD has asked if we can have a gammon meal today before she goes off to a friends for a couple of days. All items in meal are reduced items.

Need to pop out later to do a quick thing for work. Dashed back from town as ive got some deliveries coming.

    Banking all checked, everything good
Just about to input RM info

Thats about it from me, have a great day everyone x

  • Got up late today which is just what I didn't need. Got so much to do today.

Going to visit my sister in law in hospital which will pretty much take up most of the afternoon. Luckily the Boy is still off work and has offered to take me which will save two long bus journeys.
    Washing
    Ironing
Find something easy in freezer for dinner
House needs a really good clean and tidy after Christmas
Actually, I think what I'm going to do is make a list for the week later and try to work my way through it.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

    Hi December Devotees,

:coffee: Mornin'. Rain stops play today, so we're having an unexpected day at home. Thanks for the starter PF.

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Five:

    :snow_grin Checked online banking.

:snow_grin Day 8 of 30 day Free Running Challenge. 18km/11.6 miles so far.

:snow_grin Alarm clock off at the wall during day time.

:snow_grin Drink only water for a couple of hours.

:snow_grin Turn off Wifi box when not using it.

:snow_grin Free home haircut. One inch snipped off the bottom. Treated self to £2 sachet of deep conditioner.

:snow_grin Defrosted leftover chilli for lunch.

:snow_grin Offered DW a night away for Hogmanay but she doesn't feel like it. And our ice hockey team is playing but they're sold out, so looks like it's going to be a cheap Hogmanay for us.
