Did what is hopefully is a weekly shop today. The Christmas spending gap is closing/closed. Just one more birthday on Friday, this is a bit tricky, but if I get cover work I am ok to buy nice present - otherwise it will have to be symbolic and an IOWEYOU. I have seen good friends. I made a pasta bake for dinner, I'll bake more bread tomorrow, I have made some survey money, I have little stashes here and there and a bigger list of expenses promised - and I think that is my bane and the reason why I am unable to keep money in my savings or pay extra on my debt. At the moment my list includes : ds passport £85, car cam belt £300, and I have to send a poster but the cost is £12 so it will need to wait, and thats just the top of the iceberg. My sister is turning £50, ds wants a haircut and I have started doing a lot of sport and really need a sports bra. I know most of this is want and not need, I feel i keep having to postpone things and I don't mind for myself but my ds has waited 2 years to get a passport and now he needs it so he can get his provisional driving license.
I know this tread is about the small things, but at the moment I feel overwhelmed by big things.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

You can get a provisional licence without a passport. My DS had to send off his birth certificate and an exam certificate to prove identity. Unless your DS is planning a trip abroad, it might be a cost that you could postpone.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Hey folks
Thanks for all your well wishes. I have another stomach bug unfortunately. I thought it was clearing but it reasserted itself last night and I feel decidedly ropey.
We're safe home from mum's though and me being ill made it a bit less intense there.
Sorry to see that we have some other poorlies too. I hope you're all better soon xxxLBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
Clf, hope you are feeling better soon.
Todays been quite a nice day and the first spend day of the year for me which is good.
I met a friend for a costalot this morning although it didn't cost a lot as it was using gift vouchers! I only had a pot of tea (and asked for an extra pot of hot water) I was glad I got their before my friend as she had cake and If I'd not already got my drink I might have been swayed!
Then onto my parents for brunch, we supplied the eggsand loaf of bread.
Called into the coop as we walked past so we got more bread and veggies for tomorrows packed lunches. Didn't buy any ys items although they had plenty as it was heavily processed items today.
Went to the library on the way back to pick up a book I'd reserved and take some books back. Dh picked up a couple of audio books for a change and ds1 borrowed 3 large books that he's read before but fancied again. I love our libraries we must have saved a small fortune over the last few years using them.
Packed lunches made for work/school tomorrow.
All bags/uniforms ready.
Tea tonight will be left over soup and part baked baguettes that I'd bought for xmas.
Thats about it for me. Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Hi Everyone
CLF - Hope this bug doesn't last long and that your soon fighting fit
Had a lovely weekend and have decided this is the year to say "Yes" more to any opportunities that come my way. Had a lovely bracing walk today out in the Peaks, really cleared the cobwebs and spent some time with DD. Not a great deal done but no spending either, looking forward to getting back into routine and making this a great year. Anyway enough waffle, lets see if I can crack a few of the dailies before bed:
